For what it's worth I applied just before the deadline for DO schools. To like 8 schools.

I got secondaries from all but one. I completed secondaries for LECOM Erie & LECOM Bradenton (I picked them because they were reasonably close to family).

I got offered an interview at both schools.

I declined the Bradenton interview because the date didn't work for me.

I interviewed at LECOM Erie on May 4th and I received an acceptance today.

So it is possible to apply late to DO schools and get accepted. I guess that's the purpose of this tread 🙂

Hope this helps. You hear so often "apply early" or you've got no shot, but that just isn't true.

I mean applying late may not always be the kiss of death but it's pretty obvious that applying early really helps you out.

I guess my point is when you read posts on SDN it always sounds like if you don't apply early you've got no chance, especially if you've got underwhelming grades/MCAT.

I consider myself a pretty average applicant. I think I'd have a good shot of getting in if I applied in June, but I applied really late. Like last possible day late and I got an offer. So don't listen to all the doubters who say it cant be done.
