Hey everyone!

Anyone with stories of late application requirements (GRE, eLORs ect) that are beyond your control but didn't affect your admission to vet school? Had a change of heart and applied to a school which the GRE scores will arrive late. Probably wasted my money, but just wanna confirm....

Correct me if I am wrong on this.. but GRE scores and Rec Letters are still the applicant’s responsibility to get them in on time. I’m pretty sure if you didnt get your stuff in on time it will affect your application.

There are some schools that will accept later GRE scores but you would have to look on the schools website and check the exact dates. I think I’ve only seen one or two schools that accept them through October.

I know from vet schools coming to visit Tuskegee and Kansas seemed to be leaniant. I believe both of them would accept them in October, one was the 1st and the other was the 15th. Not sure if those were either one of your late additions.

Wisconsin accepts GRE scores until October 15th.

Your best bet is to probably call them and talk to them. Depends on the person and the school. Some might understand and give you a little flex, others your application goes right into the deleted folder if its one second past deadline and they won't look back. It's nice when they'll help a person out, but I also get the necessity for stringency with the number of applicants there are every year.

I had a late LOR three years ago (evaluator tried to submit the night of the deadline, but it wouldn't go through on VMCAS). K-State, SGU and Midwestern were willing to accept it emailed directly to them, but Mizzou and Illinois were not so I was disqualified for them. But like other people said, it depends on the school and possibly the circumstances, so definitely give them a call unless they have a later deadline for GRE scores listed on their website.
