Due to unavailable spots at every test site in michigan, I have to take my mcat august 4th meaning my application wont be complete until early september, how will this effect my chances of getting in?

What are your stats? I'd have to say, that's pretty late...maybe I'm wrong, but hopefully you have above average stats.

Good luck!

There is a June, 21 open in Michigan as of right now. If you wait until the date gets closer then spots should open up. Be prepared to waste a bunch of money switching test sites and dates. To cancel, it costs $130. If you end up having to switch to a different site and date then it is worth just cancelling instead of rescheduling. Many people this late in the registration end up having to travel hours by car for their MCAT.

My MCAT date is August 3rd. My sGPA is 3.4 and cGPA is 3.3. I don't know if I should try to switch to an earlier date or take my time and study my ass off for a competitive score.

On SDN, July 1st is late.

OP, it's not late, it's just "not early". You're right in-between man.

In other words, it will affect you, but it won't kill you. GL :luck:

This is not true right? don't know if you were being sarcastic or not.

Dude you're fine. It's only "late" by SDN standards. Not even half the nation will have submitted their application by that point. I tested August 12th or so and submitted my app about 35 days later. Zero stress about being late.

I took the MCAT around that time too. I couldn't send in my primary application until a month later. (Due to my financial situation and not knowing my MCAT score). I ended up finishing my secondary applications by October / November. I think if you send in your primary application before you take the MCAT (Around June or July) you should be fine. By the time you finish your MCAT you should be receiving secondary essays from schools and you can just work on them after the test. Good luck!
