I submitted my primary application in mid July and have been waiting for verification since then. I just wanted to know if there’s anything else I could be doing right now to improve my chances this cycle. I just received my MCAT results two days ago so I will start adding more schools on AMCAS soon. My primary will probably be verified around mid August or so. Is it realistic for me to be “complete” at my schools by Labor Day? I have not prewritten any secondaries yet, I will probably end up applying to around 10 schools this cycle. Also do most people take the Casper test during this time and is it usually required to be marked complete at schools? Any advice is appreciated

Pre-write secondaries for the 10 schools you plan to apply to.
If these schools require the CASPER, find out when you need to submit it and make sure you do so.
Research the schools that you are most interested in, taking note of the features you find most appealing and the activities you want to contribute to.

Good luck!

Linda how important is to send the secondaries in 2 weeks time frame. What if I took almost a month to submit my secondaries? is it the end of my chances for the consideration by the med schools?

Two-week turnaround is a rule of thumb so that you can return the secondaries promptly and with quality. Longer than two-week turnaround isn't directly how you are evaluated. However, the later you submit secondaries, the fewer interview slots and seats are available. Also if you submit your secondaries many weeks later and later, schools will wonder both about your level of interest in their program and your time management skills.

That's the long answer. The short one: Taking a month is not automatically the end of your chances. if you haven't submitted, get it done.
