  1. Pre-Dental
I just pushed my DAT to July 26.. I e-submitted on July 5th, all my LORs and transcripts were in by then. I'm nervous because my cGPA is 3.1 and sGPA is 2.9 (I'm doing a masters this year). I have a strong personal statement, 500 volunteer hours, and 3000 shadowing hours because I worked as a dental assistant for a long time.

Do you think I shot myself in the foot by pushing back my test? How long will it take for schools to receive my DAT scores? Do I have a chance this cycle? I applied to 11 schools (mostly the expensive ones) and will add more after my DAT.

Thanks!!

It will take 2.5-3.5 weeks for DAT to go in. With your stats its best to kill the DAT. So pushing back is fine. But go study your butt off! Idk if you have a chance this cycle, I'm somewhere in the same boat, a little higher GPA, less ECs. So we will both be keeping our fingers crossed. I would apply to more schools if you can afford it

have you taken any practice tests? based on what i've read here, i would say you would need a 23+ to offset your low gpa. i don't think you are too late to be considered for this cycle. i will say that if you have to reapply next year: make sure this next year you do VERY well in your masters program, continue to shadow/volunteer, and have your application ready to submit within the first 2 weeks of june.

You have to do well on the DAT.

Even if you do well on the DAT, it looks like the schools won't review your application until mid August. That is pretty late and may effect your chances for this cycle. Study hard, Kill the DAT especially for next cycle. Good Luck!
