At the NYC reception, Dr. Corcoran said the 5-year could be up to 120 students, and the 4-year up to 60.
4 yr entering class size is about 60-70 students. And 5 year it is about 110-120 students. I don't think they are increasing class size anymore. We are basically at full capacity I'd say. They probably just did not get enough suitable applicants, or they want to offer more places because they expect many will decline the offer to stay closer to home. It's possible though that since the school's facilities are expanding (and almost done) they will have more room for additional students.
Remember that over here students apply through UCAS and they have a very regimented application scheme like we do with VMCAS. They are just more flexible with the applications from graduates who don't apply through UCAS because they don't need to be on such a strict timeline. They can have the applicants apply directly to the school instead.

So when the 4yrs join the 5yrs class in their year 3 are there 170-190 students total then?
the fact that they're still accepting apps makes me want to apply really badly, even though I think I'm underqualified. I got too curious and emailed them just to see what their actual class requirements are, maybe I could be a North American "school leaver".

I think they took it down - it's changed since yesterday.
I'm oddly relieved... For a moment I was considering applying yesterday. I will probably apply there next year, but I am just not emotionally prepared to leave the country yet! Not sure if I will be next year either, but at least I will have had time to really think about it (and start the rabies process with my dogs!).
How odd how this message keeps appearing and disappearing though! It is almost feeling like one might be better off waiting for them to take late applications versus apply though VMCAS.
I'm having some serious trouble navigating Edinburgh's website. The only "apply to this degree" options I can find are for the MVetsci research degrees. Where can you apply to the 4-year program? I can't find it.
Not sure where you find it on the site, but the program you are looking for is the GEP (Graduate Entry Programme, or the 4-year program). The degree you would be seeking that is equivalent to a DVM over there is the BVM&S (Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery).

You have to email Geraldine Giannopoulos, who will tell you the preliminary things you need to turn in before they offer you a formal application (basically a resume, personal statement, reference, and unofficial transcripts).
I'm tempted...very tempted, but not sure if I would go even if I got in.
I dunno. I'm a homebody, I guess. I like my small, US towns, and knowing that nothing is more than a few hours plane ride away. I'm just not ready to make that step yet...still holding out hope that one of my waitlists will come through, if not, I'm moving to be in-state at one of the schools I like, working, and maybe doing an MBA or something.
I've heard amazing things about Edinburgh, so I'm torn, in a way.

It is definitely gone now..............😕
Anyone know what the application fee is for late apps?
When I emailed just for clarifying information, I was told I had until March 15th to send in things. I'm sure if anyone who really wanted to go emailed Geraldine she might let people still apply? I don't imagine in a few days they got enough applicants already? right?

I turned in my late application to University of Edinbugh a few days ago... Has anyone heard who applied this round of late applications?

I sent one on February 23rd, haven't got any sort of reply yet--though my reference hasn't been sent in yet, so that may be a factor. We should keep each other posted!
Yes, we will definitely have to keep each other updated! I hope we hear something soon!
Hey! If people still want to apply should they e-mail [email protected], or does Geraldine Giannopoulos have another e-mail?
Thanks!

edit: I don't know where those music notes came from?? but I like them so they're staying.
Thank you so much! I actually already applied to Edinburgh through VMCAS, but now I'm asking for a friend, and she might not even apply anyways. Good luck getting in! Maybe we'll be classmates next year 🙂
marycatherine, Have you heard anything yet from Edinburgh? I got an email saying they have everything they need to process my application, but I haven't heard anything else yet...
