Late in the game for MD. How low are my ECs? Do I need a gap year?

Graduating in May and my GPA overall is 3.53, but factor out a poor 1st year, it is 3.84 with a science GPA that is about the same. I have yet to take the MCAT.

I started with these during the summer before my third year

300 Clinical volunteering hours (oncology)
22 Hours non-clinical volunteering
50 Shadowing hours (oncology)
Student Council representative for 1 year
Have a leadership position in my major's department by helping to look for a replacement chair
Earned one scholarship from the university (not related to academics nor sports)
Planning on tutoring for two classes and a presentation (but must make time for MCAT)
No research, no paid work experience

PA resident, Polish male in low 20s

I'd take a gap year. Get more shadowing in a field other than oncology. Do some more clinical volunteering and non-clinical as well (22 isn't very much at all). Your GPA isn't lethal (though it is on the lower side for MD schools) and ADCOMS like to see upward trends but you can't really just "factor out" an entire year, so you need to make sure the rest of your app is a strong as possible. Good luck!
