late interview chances DMU

I would really appreciate if anyone could explain me the chances of being accepted at DMU after interview. I had been on hold for long time. I initially applied in august. I have decent gpa and mcat with low verbal score

I know all seats gets almost full toward the end but I am praying if I can still get in. I am wondering if I still have chances. I would really appreciate if anybody have some experience with this.

One of the people I met during the cycle said that early holds usually don't result in anything.

thank you for your reply. yes. actually I have interview next week. I am really excited about it but at the same time I am worried about the result. I am not sure how much interview says about getting accepted.

I am still waiting to hear back from couple more schools but I really really want to go to this school. I have heard nothing except great things about this school and I also like the place very much.

Agreed. If you haven't interviewed or been invited, it's time to plan for something else.

When did you actually get the invite btw? Also stats just out of curiosity.

Like I've been on hold since Sept I think and was told they'd be moving people off the hold in March.

I heard from them that this month they'll be examining their hold list and they'll probably be sending out a few interviews.

Try and relax. Getting into DMU is competitive year round.

If you got an interview it means they are interested in you just as much as everyone else who interviewed.

They say they interview roughly 600 applicants, give out 400ish acceptances, for a total of 220ish spots. I doubt they separate who got interviewed immediately or off the waitlist. So in general terms, your chances are good considering you obtained an interview. That should ease your mind a little, so for now, forget the numbers and prepare for the interview. Know why you want to go to DMU, if you do, and know why osteopathic medicine. Know your AACOMAS like the back of your hand so you can respond to anything they ask about it. Know your personal statement for when they ask about it (they will ask something related to it). And lastly, which should be common sense, and I'm sure it isn't always followed, but don't bulls*** yourself or your interviewers.

The interviewers at DMU were like walking lie detectors.

If you're interviewing, then you should have a decent chance at acceptance, as long as:
A) the class isn't almost filled up.
B) you don't bomb your interview
C) you're not interviewing for a slot on the wait list.

So when you get there, ask the Admissions dean if there are still seats available. If your low MCAT is from a low VR score, you still shoudl be in good territory. Good luck!
