Hey,

I'm interviewing prettyyy late at Touro-NV and Western (End of April). I was wondering if any of you guys knew if its possible to still get an acceptance or if I'm going to be interviewing for a spot on the waitlist? Also, any other advice/tips about interviewing at these schools would be much appreciated. 🙂

Thanks!

i'm interviewing at western at the beginning of may b/c i had to postpone my april interview. they told me that they still have spots open (a little less than half)

I just interviewed at Western, and they said they usually interview till the first of May, so I think it's late, but not unusual for them.

I had another thread somewhere about Western's interview. They're usually pretty friendly, although some people seemed to have had bad interviewer(s).

Note: Don't say you're a bad test taker. That's what the students kept telling us.

Good luck.

Prepare a good defense for a bad grade (Cs) or low MCAT. You will be questioned.
Example:..... I did not do well in my MCAT because I did not practice enough to be able to complete... Section A or B. (very few people complete all sections) BUT I knew the material and the proof is that my grades in physics are above average or my grades in chemistry are excellent. So, if I had completed that section I would have had a better score. 😀

Think fast on your feet. Do not let them shoot you down. Be polite but firm with your answers. Good luck. (Excuse bad spelling, typed in a hurry)

I interviewed at Western this year. Just a heads up, if you get a researcher [ask around, the ambassadors will tell you as much as they can about your interviewer when the time comes] ---you need to be very strong in research. I am not, more of a clinical kid myself, and he reallllly gave it to me. At first it was the easy questions, then a "can you explain xxx in your transcript" then I got every random research ethics and research "probability" question on the planet. I thought for SURE there was no way on earth that I'd get in- shows how well I can read people. Regardless, my Western U interview was WAYYYY worse than all the others. So just in case you fall into the .01% category that i was in [little research experience + being interviewed by the director of research + being the last interviewee when the guy just wants to go home] be prepared. And like I said, you never know, I still got in, but it was a hard interview. I don't mean to scare, just want you to know in advace if you are still getting ready to interview at western

I have an interview coming up in a week with WesternU. I spoke to the admisisons lady and she says they will interview on Thursday, then meet on the following Tuesday to make a decision. So, how long after that until you actually know the results?

They told me the committee meets on Wednesdays... but they did tell me they would mail a decision by one to two weeks.

Western was weird for the interviews.. .I just had one interviewer and I thought it was going to be three people.

I felt like I did pretty well, but i haven't heard yet from them. There were alot of people there. no questions about my grades or MCATs at all.

I didn't apply to Western (congrats for being accepted!) but wonder what you mean by research "probability" questions.

Thanks!
