Late Interviews?

So my application still isn't considered complete and I see most schools have sent out interview invitations, I'm thinking that if i get interviews they wont be till really late, like maybe after december. So then people will be getting accepted before i even get interviewed. How much does this hurt my chances of getting in? My GPA is 3.61, sci GPA is 3.54. For DAT, Academic=19, total science=19, and PAT=23. I'm freaking out!😕

I think you should retake DAT because I am not sure which part of non-science subjects you did poor; but if you did really poorly on RC, I def recommend you to take one ASAP.

I am sure that as time goes on, it's harder to get interviews from schools since only a very small portion of students end up getting accepted, and many applicants are out there waiting for interviews.

I think it's meaningless to talk about chances unless you retake DAT. They will filter you based on your AA score.

okay that makes a HUGE difference🙂

There are lots of applicants who haven't received their decisions yet. If you apply to all schools in early October the ealiest interview request for you may be some time in January or February. Don't lose all your hopes yet. It's still kinda early stage (Tufts and Pitts haven't even sent out interview requests yet)

you should definitely get some interviews... you have both a solid gpa and dat scores... just give it some time. 👍

i got a 16 in RC... and have 4 interviews... 19/19/23 is good with that gpa...

Hey KPdental, I am also in the same boat as Bloss. My AADSAS isnt mailed out to dental schools since I only sent it on sept 29th. however my stats are comparable to Bloss'.

Look at it this way: a lot of people with pre-Dec 1 interviews have multiple pre-Dec 1 interviews and may get multiple Dec 1 acceptances. However, each person can only attend one school, so even if the put down multiple deposits, eventually those extra spots will open up.

I submitted to AADSAS in late June but the letter from my pre-health advisor took forever and aadsas didn't get it mailed to schools until 9/29. But the good new is that I got an interview invite on 10/1, so hopefully that means all the schools are looking at my app now. I'm going to be at Temple 10/30. It was a huge relief to be able to get a pre-december interview because I figured that by this point they pre-dec dates would be filled. So there's still hope for those of us who waited forever for interview invites!!! Good luck guys!🙂
