I am planning on taking the early June MCAT, but I have run into a serious scheduling problem. Unfortunately I cannot take Biochemistry before the summer. I plan to self-study for Biochem, but if my practice scores are too low I will probably have to take the course during the first summer session, which ends in the middle of June. If I delayed the test to July 21st, would I be too late to be competitive for DO schools? I would very much like to avoid taking a gap year. GPA >3.9, if it matters.
Thanks.

No, your score will come back end of August right? Most schools haven't started interviewing yet. Your GPA is good, apply first day, your app will be put on hold but you will be verified. Once your MCAT comes in, it will be sent to all schools and they can send you secondaries. All secondaries can be turned in within a week, it might not even be October yet. Meaning you have 4+ months of interview dates. Apply broadly

Are you applying for next years cycle (The one that starts this may)? If so your fine I took mine in the middle of July and did just fine. Make sure you get the rest of your application done and submitted in advance of your MCAT so once your scores come in it can go straight to schools.

Not at all, plenty of people apply around that time too, just make sure you have everything ready to go!
