Hey, I'm applying this cycle coming up. However, 2 of my professors are taking a really long time to write my letter of recommendation and they probably won't finish until the fall. I was just wondering if it's possible to send in an application to schools with some letters still missing, and they can be sent in to complete my application when they are finished?

I want to submit my application early, but without those letters, my application won't be complete. Just wondering what you guys think.

i would ask them to have them done earlier, since it doesn't really take THAT long to get them done...(assuming you already asked them) and you really do want to get your application in early. Just ask them nicely with a please and thank you.

If you have already asked them, you should get it until fall. I'm quite sure it doesn't take 6 months or more to write a LOR. If you could explain your exact situation I'm sure they would be willing to have it done earlier, especially since you have asked them this early.
Good luck!

I agree...a deliverable of 6 months! Holy cow! Nothing moves that slow. Maybe you should bring apples to class...j/k In all seriousness, a LoR should take a couple weeks - tops. I would write a bullet-point paper with some highlights about you and what you are trying to accomplish and slip it to them - along with a friendly reminder to get moving on your letter!
