Adderall? No, just like they didn't need it in undergrad. People will use it anyway. Coffee, yeah, people probably need that, or at least some form of caffeine :D

I don't like to use stimulants b/c I have trouble sleeping at night if I do. I just try to get enough sleep (well, except for the nights before exams). During class, I chew gum to keep me focused when I start getting sleepy. If I start losing focus while I'm studying, then I'll take a short nap and usually end up waking up rejuvinated. This works for me, but everybody is different.

+1! Just getting into a REGULAR sleep routine, and sticking to it is key! If you're getting up and going to bed at different times everyday, you're going to feel tired more than you feel alert and refreshed

I agree. Coming from someone who has had sever sleep apnea, people REALLY, REALLY underestimate the importance of a good night's sleep, and a normal sleep schedule. What many students fail to realize is that you almost always retain more information when you sleep more, even if you studied less.

definitely agree! If I have an exam the next morning I call it a night around 10:30-11 o'clock (maybe this will change, maybe it will not--who knows?). I don't know about anyone else, but anything I study after 11 o'clock just doesn't get retained. Plus, if I'm exhausted the day of a test, I can't focus.

Adderall is for OS and ortho gunners.

DDS gunners use Water

The top two people in the class supposedly have ADHD, so they do take it. Personally, I think they are smart enough to have not needed it and still be where they are, but they still used it to their advantage. They got what they wanted - Ortho!

A one hour afternoon nap, coffee, and some music every now and then (music shouldn't be continuous though, otherwise, your brain will just shut down).

5-hour energy and caffeine by the truck load

red bull gives me wings. n chocolate keeps me happy. :)

no need to stay up late because of pass/no pass

Exercise, listen to lectures on the treadmill or while running, review notes/powerpoint on the exerbike.

...Set denture teeth while pooping.

You should also print your powerpoints out so you can study while at the urinal, just set them right on top of the sensor or handle on top, it's practically like a bookstand.

This is a good idea. As for setting denture teeth while pooping- I don't like to mix business with pleasure.

I actually sleep more during midterms/final exams. Most of you probably took neuroscience and know that the consolidation process (short-term memory to long-term memory) happens during REM sleep. I actually found that my GPA went up since I started doing this. Quality over quantity is key.
