Why would a pt with MVP rapidly squat down for later onset of click/murmur? Does this help the pt with symptoms? FA just says this without explaining it. Many thanks in advance.

The MV prolapses when LV pressure increases beyond the LA pressure. A maneuver that increases preload should increase LA pressure and end up delaying the click since the LV requires an extra bit of time to build up that extra bit of pressure needed to displace the MV.

An explanation I read somewhere on the internet said that Increased preload--> Increased LV volume , so that ''stretches'' the Mitral Valve and it doesnt prolapse that much .. Just like increased preload ''stretches'' LV and relieves outflow obstruction in HCM. I think that if you look at it ''mechanically'' its easy to understand
