I am scheduled to take the MCAT April 1st. I'm now realizing that with work, school and life in general, I may not be able to devote ample time to studying without feeling like I am rushing or cutting myself short. What would the latest MCAT test date be such that I could still apply on time for c/o 2017 (apply this upcoming cycle).

I don't have any friends who applied and I don't know very many people who could give me a good answer to this question so I'm asking you all. Thanks a lot!

The "latest MCAT considered" is on MSAR and on the schools' websites

For the majority of schools it's September
As you may already know, you can always submit your AMCAS (primary) before finding out your MCAT score

Try to aim for early June. This way you can get your results back in early July and be "on time" by SDN standards

Gotcha, thanks!

Yeah I should've mentioned that I meant on time by SDN standards lol. Thanks a lot!
Yeah your primary app isn't going to get sent to schools till July 1st so just pre write your secondaries after you're done with the MCAT and you should be golden. Just make sure you're not rushing with the MCAT and are consistently scoring in your desired range. A month or two late won't be detrimental if you score much higher than you would have if you took it earlier.

Agreed. You'd like to have your scores no later than July. I took the August MCAT for the current cycle (though I was verified and completed most of my secondaries before my scores came back in September) and I've had some trouble with timing.

I submitted most of my primary apps during mid August - early september and have not had any issues. I would say taking the MCAT later and getting a better score but applying a bit later is WAYYYY better than rushing the MCAT, feeling anxious about studying and then getting a score that you can improve. Just my personal $0.02 on this topic.

I see, thanks and good luck with your cycle!
