Lawsuit/bad outcome fears

I'm not suggesting using them for anxiety except as you note about ADHD but it just seems like 'works on the same system' doesn't distinguish it much from a whole bunch of other things. I get simplifying things to sell the med but that it seems misleading, although I know that's not your intention.
I can certainly see that, and I mostly emphasize the similar clinical effects and mostly mention the "system" thing in passing. This is typically a discussion that occurs with people who don't believe anything but a benzo will be helpful.

I will say someone who is going to legitimately eat enough lamictal to kill them is also going to be aware that they can kill themselves with Tylenol, too.
True, but someone attempting to OD on Tylenol typically won't die in a couple of hours if they don't get treatment and long-term problems can be avoided if treated within 6-12 hours or longer. Someone with a significant OD on lamotrigine can die a lot faster than that. I'm not saying I'm thinking about OD risk as much as when I prescribe lithium, but I'm certainly more concerned than some other meds like gabapentin or low-dose quetiapine.
