How long would a taxi ride from LAX to UCLA take at about 11 in the morning?

It can take anywhere from 15 min to 45 min. Depends on traffic - which is NOT predictable on the 405. I'd leave on hour, just to be safe, but that's just me 🙂
FYI - My 2 cents was from living near the 405 near the airport & commuting 8 miles to UCLA for school. *Usually* took 20 or so minutes, but could take up to 45 - hence why I suggest allowing more time (if you HAVE to be somewhere) - if your arrival time doesn't really matter (and you just want an idea of travel times), then I'd leave 30 min - which is probably more than enough time but you never know - the 405 can be a monster....
trust me i have commuted around 5 days a week for the past four years---school and job at ucla area------live near lax---i have the times down pat so unless you have commuted longer than me i suggest you not try and insult his intellegence as my advice is the CORRECT one!
where do ya live?

would you like my SS# too, or maybe my bank account #......leave me alone STALKER!!!!!!!!
Wow! Are you serious? I'm REALLY hoping you are being sarcastic....
What did I say that would lead to that response? I simply said, due to the unpredictable nature of the 405, I'd leave more time - I wouldn't count on 15 minutes - it's not my nature to cut things close, and I'd always rather be early & kill time than late and having to provide lame excuses ("uh... there was more traffic than I anticipated"). The OP can do as (s)he pleases - take my 2 cents or not - I really don't care.
Hopeful_MD, please try to chill out! I, too, spent 4 years in that area with school & jobs - everyone has different experiences depending on how they drive, when they drive, etc. I simply was sharing my experience with someone as simply something to factor in to planning travel.....
it should only take about 15 minuets....but if you leave at 11:30 or later plan on being stuck in traffic for about 50-60 minuets.....cross your fingers and hope that your plane arrives on time!!!

I grew up near LAX too
not in the middle of the day!!!!!!!!!!
nevermind.......i forgot some people (i wont name any names lets call him s.PIE....no you might figure that out....sweetie. P.......thats better).....drive like 40 mph on the freeway.........
to op: i am assuming your taking a taxi.....well in LA they drive at least 70 mph on the freeway.....so take others advice with a grain of salt!
hopeful_MD, really - seriously - you must find a better way to entertain yourself than to be rude on an annonymous pre-med board when others are genuinely trying to be helpful...
what are you talking about.......i wasnt rude at all.....an not help-ful? CMON!
did you read my sentence about "TO THE OP".....
get the facts straight before you go public!!!!!!!
I wasn't referring to that part of your post - more like the intelligence insult that was your "i wont name any names lets call him s.PIE....no you might figure that out....sweetie. P.......thats better"
Peace out....
ummm thanks for the info.
I found out about some obligations I have the day before the UCLA interview, and they dont let you reschedule, so I basically have to fly in the day of. Fortunately, there is a nonstop flight that gets in before 1045 which is an hour before I need to be at UCLA.
You should be fine if the plane isn't delayed (and probably even if it is by a little bit 🙂 ) - so they don't let you reschedule? If that's the case, they should update the archaic snail mail system as interview invites are happening all the time
taxi could be expensive. i would suggest taking supershuttle. i think its $20 flat rate.

I would honestly give yourself more time to get out of the airport... walk and wait for the supershuttle van/taxi at one of the designated locations...account for traffic on the freeway and on the major blvd's...etc...
Give yourself more time.
good luck and enjoy the best weather in the country (dont mind the red sky line![]()
...that will go away in the winter when the storms get rid of all that nasty stuff.
