LDP vs. PBL...please help

This may come across as a very stupid question, but could somebody please explain this LDP and PBL concept. My premedical advisor never mentioned any of this to me, and I have no idea what it is or what it means. What is the difference, and will I be asked about it at the interview?

PBL = problem based learning, as oppossed to Lecture based (traditional method). You work on problems in small groups instead of just attending lecture and getting information that way.

Thanks, I have been seeing posts on here about getting accepted into different programs. When do they ask which program you prefer? Is this part of the interview?

It depends on the school you're interviewing at. Not all schools offer PBL. I can only speak for LECOM-Erie, as that's the only school I have been to that gave me a choice. LECOM-Erie does ask you in the interview which pathway you want to do. To find out more about it, hit up their website. There's a section on there that explains it very well. They say that the learning pathway you choose has no bearing on whether you are accepted overall at LECOM. (You can be accepted overall but waitlisted for PBL - this means you are accepted for the LDP.) I have read on here that there is currently a waitlist for PBL, but I don't know that for sure.

LECOM's LDP program is 8a-5p M-F, and some students complain about actually being able to study effectively after such a long day. PBL is not as strenuous and long, of course. FYI..........
