I have a two piece wrap around from barrington.
I like the two piece because my xray guy keeps shooting pictures while my back is turned. I wear it all day and most of the weight is on my hips rather than back and shoulders.

Hospital based so we just use whatever isn't taken by the real doctors, but in the ASC I work at they had us get these tailored ones that are great until I gain weight.

Agree with myrandom2003 that having the weight on the hips is a lifesaver.

with the 2 piece, doesnt your scrub pants get pulled down??
You're supposed to wrap it snugly around your waist, not your hips.with the 2 piece, doesnt your scrub pants get pulled down??
If your waist is considerably larger than your hip diameter....cinch tighter?

My work is willing to pay for additional fluoro safety equipment up to a certain amount, but I don't have much experience buying or knowing what to look for.
Anyone have recommendations for what to spend this money on? (we have personal lead aprons already)
thoughts on the lead "aprons/skirts" that go around the table? pros vs cons?
Any value in a lead cap? seems like it would just funnel the radiation to your brain, but what do I know?

I use one that goes around the table, with removable panels. Cuts down on scatter. I also use a lead side shield bw me and source whenever I take a lateral. My work is willing to pay for additional fluoro safety equipment up to a certain amount, but I don't have much experience buying or knowing what to look for.

Leaded plastic see through panel on a stand on a single pole. Could not find a pic of the one I used to use but this is similar. Is it annoying to use the lead shield for laterals? Can you show an example of what kind of shield you’re using?I use one that goes around the table, with removable panels. Cuts down on scatter. I also use a lead side shield bw me and source whenever I take a lateral.
Not really, I use my elbow/upper arm to pull it into position. If it is a larger procedure where I’m scrubbed in like Scs or kyphoplasty, I put a sterile half drape over it so I can easily pull it in front of source on laterals. I’ll try to get a picture shortly. Is it annoying to use the lead shield for laterals? Can you show an example of what kind of shield you’re using?
