leader ship skills?

Here is my dumb question:
What is it that you call leadership skills? What you should have done to be considered as having leadership abilities?
If possible, please clarify by giving me some examples of your leardership activities.

I think being the secretary, prez, treasurer etc. of any club or organization is where most people get leadership skills. For me, all of my leadership skills are fraternity related, I was president and held 3 or 4 other important positions within my fraternity.

I think at most schools decent leadership positions are a bonus, however schools have brought up my leadership stuff, but none have mentioned any of my community service, so who knows.

adding to the list:

If you have been a mentor or a tutor.

depending on your job, it can be an example of leadership as well. i.e being an RA

leaders stand out in the community and you know if you are a true leader or a follower.
