I HAVE NO IDEA how to approach the majority of MATH Destroyer problems. None at all. I typically can't follow the solutions either. I watched Chad's videos and I honestly didn't find those very helpful at all. They're much too simple. Anyone have recommendations/sources for learning this material? Thanks.

I was in the same boat! I had a fairly weak math background because I I am older and graduated high school long ago. I met with a tutor and watched Khan Academy. I scored a 17 in QR but I was really happy with that.

Well I'm still an undergrad... but I did go to one of the worst public school systems in North Carolina. I blame that haha. I will give Khan Academy a shot! Thanks!

so are you saying that Chad's videos did not help at all? I am thinking about going through Chad's videos but not too sure if it waste a lot of time or not. I am quite decent at math already, as in took calculus, statistics, a few other quantitive reasoning classes such as physics, chemistry, and labs.

Is it best not to go through his QR videos?

From what I've read MATH Destroyer is most similar to the actual QR section and Chad's videos are just not cutting it for me... I do not enjoy math though.. Not in the slightest. Results may vary haha.

EDIT: You might learn a couple of time savers from his videos, but I'm not at that point. Doesn't matter if it saves me time if I have no idea how to solve the problems.

I found khan academy yo be extremely helpful for trig. Hadn't tried chads yet but I do have them and will. I need to learn probability

I also am terrible on the QR section and seem to be very poor with my math. What are some of the study materials people used to prepare for this section of the DAT and scored well. If you could post your materials and your successful results, that would be wonderful.

The QR section on Chad's videos were really, too simple.
It'll give you the basic ideas of how to solve the problems, but not much more than that.

I'm using the Achiever and solving the problems without viewing the solutions, after I take the test once.

It's helping, but there are so many things on the Achiever QR that is not thoroughly explained...
I haven't the Math Destroyer, so I can't comment on that one!

I'm actually taking my DAT in about 6 days, but what I've been doing to study and what you should you...

If you have a weak background in QR, I'd suggest you go through the math section in Kaplan's BB. It is extremely basic, but you should really need to know the basics. If that doesn't seem sufficient, I suggest you get a SAT study book and just skim through the math section. Under NO circumstances should you rely on those alone. I haven't heard of Khan, and for Chad I'd only use him for GC and OC

The real heart of the QR is how fast can you work through it without making stupid mistakes haha. This really comes with just oodles of practice practice practice! It's not really something you learn and memorize. It's just something you do a lot of and learn to recognize what you need to do quickly.

Destroyer sciences + math has about 150 questions for math.
Destroyer math has 12 practice tests

Both of them are excellent for practice and you should go through all of them with the time limit. Then go through all the solutions, make sure you know how to do them, and go through them again the next day with a time limit. The two books kind of test two separate groups of math concepts, but if you're strapped for cash/time, I'd go with Destroyer math only. With that book, do NOT worry about tests 11/12 as they jack up the difficulty/wordiness level and your real DAT math supposedly only will have like 1 or 2 kinds of questions that the entire test 11/12 are made of. Even I (a math loving Asian) had problems finishing more than 30 in the given time. BUT you should still go through them (no matter how painful) so that you know what to do with questions like those.

As others have mentioned, it's all in the speed.

Feel free to PM me with any specific questions, I can show you how to approach any QR problem with a faster mindset than your current one.
