I'm probably going to call ada to ask what to do, but I figured I see if anyone here has experience with this. I'll be a re-applicant this year, and am re-taking the DAT's in a couple of weeks. The only section on aadsas for dat scores is for "most recent" test. I took it last year, but don't want to submit those scores with my official app (kinda the whole point of me retaking them this year). But I also don't want to wait until test day to submit my app to aadsas. Should I just leave this field blank? Is that even possible or will it get kicked back for being incomplete?

Great question! I had the same one and called several of the DS I'm interested in. All of them said to leave the section blank and to drop them a line stating you are re-taking the DAT on whatever date.

Assuming it works the same as last year, you shouldn't have a problem. I took the DAT after I e-submitted. I was even able to add my DAT scores later.

Okay so here's the Lowdown given to me directly from the dean of admissions of Harvard. Take from it what you want, but on a side note I am in the same boat as you. She told me to submit my scores with marking the "Future DAT Date". She said that the commitee will set the application aside just as they would if you had never taken the test and they will wait to see your new scores before making a decision . Also she noted that if you don't report your scores they will see them anyway when you report your most recent DAT, therefore it is better to just be honest and the addcom will wait to see what happens. Hope this helps, I was trying to decide too. I am gonna take her advise and be upfront.

I think I read somewhere on the AADSAS website that the schools see your previous DAT scores. So if that's the case, you may as well put your score and also check that you will be re-taking it.

Although I'm not sure if you can put two different test dates in (I think it's just the most recent). I'm going to check that right now...

Excellent post. I'm in the same situation. It sounds like it doesn't really matter either way since the dental schools will see your old scores anyway. I just left it blank and checked the box for future dat.
