Im currently taking 2 premed science classes but doing really bad in those ( possible C or D in both classes) due to recent change in jobs and end up working full time.

So my question is... Since the withdraw period is over.... should i take "leave of absence" with 2 Ws for the semester or

should i stay and get at least C+. If i get lower than C+ the school will dismiss me and they will make me take a year off since i'm already on AP.

so which rout do you guys think will more befinicial to me and also for med school.

I know i needed more time to study and i'll be quitting the job very soon and will focus on school 100% next semester and pull those A s.

Thanks

Whats your GPA? IF your already on AP I doubt you'll have anywhere near high enough a GPA to even think about md school.

I was on AP after being very sick my first semester, and with my continuing illness I barely got off it 2nd semester. It's taken all the rest of my undergrad plus 2 years postbacc to bring my GPA up to 3.3, which is still nothing to write home about.

It's a long road ahead no matter what you do. AP your first year you might be able to get in with, suspension, likely not unless you have some pretty amazing ECs. Just think about that if you believe you are really about to get a 2 semester forced leave.

It's bad new to have Cs and Ds in the pre-reqs. It's worse news to get kicked out of school due to your GPA.

First, what are the chances you can pull your grades up to at least the C+ range? If I was in the situation and my odds of pulling my grades up weren't near 100%, I would strongly strongly strongly consider the leave absence. It seems like you will also need to reevaluate your employment and commitment to school.

i finished my Associate last year and transfered to finish up my B.A. so my gpa was pretty fresh because of the new school last semester and I took only 1 pre med class for last semester. And i got D for that class ... So because of that 1 D they put me on AP. So i still have a chance to improve my gpa and to make up for that D right?

i'm going to ask again... ... So Should i take the leave of absence for this semester now with 2 W s or Try to get C+ and if i get lower than C+ they will dismiss me and i have to take a year off..

which one will look worst on my transcript..

Thanks again

Neither are good, but I would avoid being dismissed if at all possible.

Academic probation is considered an "institutional action" and it will need to be reported on the AMCAS application. So, you will have the opportunity to explain the situation in that section of the application without taking valuable space from your personal statement. The experience section will show your work history including average number of hours per week and you can explain your increase in hours over time.

That said, you have a very steep uphill climb ahead. Take the leave of absence. Consider your gpa and the likelihood that you will be admitted into medical school given your academic performance.

You might also give some thought to other career paths that are less dependent on performance in the natural sciences as these don't apear to be your strong suit.

FYI, you said that you have a "fresh" GPA because you transferred..I don't want to be the one to break the bad news, but just to let you know; GPA will be calculated from any school you have attended. Better to learn that now than later. Good Luck.
