After looking through the archived post interview write-ups, many claim that "LECOM basically interviews everyone." Anyone from past application cycles that can stake claim to this theory or anyone get rejected here from LECOM? Kinda nervous here as I view it as my one and only chance to get into Osteopathic Medical School this go around. Thanks.

I don't think that is fair to say that about LECOM or the student going there.

If they do interview a lot of people that is good.. give them points for that. Since they will consider many applicants. But there is no way that they accept everyone. Otherwise you would see 2000 people accepted.

Also, It is not good for you to think that is your last chance to get into any school... I don't know you stats, nor do I need to know. Sometime you need more time to get ready and prove you are qualified for not only one school but many schools... confidence is build with experience.. and with many failures you eventually overcome.

Has anyone interviewed at LECOM lately? I have an interview at the Erie campus next week and one at the FL campus at the end of the month. I would love to get some feedback.

No, I don't think they interview too many people. They were relatively slow to start interviewing, as well. I had an interview scheduled for tomorrow, but I canceled it because I got accepted to several schools that were best for me for several reasons.

Please don't view LECOM as your one and only chance-if you get interviewed there, I am sure you will get interviewed elsewhere-provided you applied to a good range of schools. Read the interview feedback if you haven't already, and prepare that way. Good luck to you, and don't psych yourself out. If you got an interview-that means that are interested in accepting you-don't listen to the crap they interview everyone and accept everyone. Keep in mind they may interview a lot-but many people get multiple acceptances, and its rolling admissions. just think about all you have done to get where you are today, and be sure to sell yourself to them. :luck:

How did you cancel interviews? I am having trouble thinking of a nice way of saying, " I was planning on coming there, but I've changed my mind". Thank you!!

I called them and said-"I'm just letting you know I'm withdrawing my application-I've been accepted already somewhere else." They were very nice and appreciative that I told them as soon as I could-someone else can get my interview spot now, I hope.
Don't worry, you won't hurt their feelings-they aren't going to have any trouble filling their slots. If you are worried about it, you could say you got accepted somewhere that is closer to home-for me that would have been the truth.

Just don't wait-if you know you aren't going to attend that school-be fair to others who are waiting for their chance to interview-and for whom that school may be their first choice. 😎

I got a phone interview about 3 weeks ago. Did you guys got a phone interview first than i will ask you for oncampus interview? Please let me know because i thought either phone interview or oncampus, or is it both?

Hey, no. I just got a letter in the mail inviting me to an onsite interview.

I am still waiting for their invite.

I also wrote an email to AZCOM and KCOM telling them I withdraw my application to allow space for others who may qualify. I will do the same for others soon.

I do want to interview at LECOM and PCOM. I promissed the DOs I know I would give it a once over.

I received a letter too. Did you already have the phone interview? Did they tell you that you should hear if you have an on-site interview?

They don't accept evrybody they interview. For instance, from my interview group of 15 people only 3 were accepted...

How late in the game was your interview? At this point in the game, they are trying to get a decent pool of applicants into their class while other schools are accepting these same applicants. Many schools would like to have at least half of their class in the bag by Thanksgiving.

Regardless of how many they interview, it's clear they don't accept any more than most schools. The Erie class is about 250 I believe, and in Florida it is 160. They obviously are limited in the number of people they can accept. An interview isn't a guarantee of acceptance by any stretch. Good luck, are you interviewing for Erie or Fla?

There were about 700 interviews for the class of 2007...we started with 227 people. I believe the class of 2008 has like 236 or something close

700 interviews for a class of 250 translates to about accepting close to 400 people. I interviewed at Erie and am flying to Florida this week.

For the person looking for information on the LECOM interview, I just interviewed on Friday. Just read the postings on the interview feedback and you will be fine. They ask a list of questions right from a standardized sheet.

Good luck!

I am currently an MSIII at Lecom. I believe that about 2500 people sent applications, 600 people were granted interviews and 225 people were accepted. Hope this helps!
