I knew my interview result: on alternative list. I'm disappointing because this is my first choice. However, I know couple people who were on alternative list last year did got in, so I still hope. Any one know how much chances I have to get in? If I'm selected on May, how I can apply to fafsa, loans. It is sort of late🙁

I'm pretty sure you can fill out the FAFSA before you get accepted. A lot of people don't know exactly what they're doing by the deadline. I think they just give you an estimate based on the information you provide and you can always decline the award.

don't be so worried... i know several people personally that were put on the wait list and were left waiting so long that they accepted a position at another school, but lecom eventually called. one of my friends, for example, was put on the waitlist at lecom, and hadn't heard anything and it was may, so she accepted the position at pba. ONE WEEK before classes started, lecom called her and accepted her! lol she had to rush and find housing and what not but it all worked out for her!
plus, lecom is not alot of people's first choice, so alot of people get accepted but don't accept the spot. don't stress! i'm sure they'll call you! 😎

I know I still have chance to get in but who knows what can happen. Now I place my hope on PBA. Are you nervous? I don't know whether they will look at PCAT score because mine is low. However, remembering the P1 student who we talked in the lobby, she said they don't care about PCAT score. I hope so. I think we will know result on next Monday

I am declining my seat, hopefully it goes to you.

i hope so... 2 weeks would be this friday, but i don't know if they'll tell us this week since thanksgiving is this week and alot of schools are closed. 🙁

I just had an interview at the end of last week and they told us that the admissions committee would be meeting Tomorrow (tuesday) and that since its Thanksgiving, we should be hearing back from them early next week. Good Luck to all!

Hi, I was just wondering what your stats are if you don't mind putting, I am applying to LECOM B and i don't have very impressive scores or anything so I am curious.

Overall GPA: 3.6
Science GPA: 3.5
PCAT Comp: 97
Not very much pharm experience just shadowing but i have a lot of community service in the health care industry.

Good luck!!

Hi
I am currently a Pre-Pharmacy student applying for the Fall 2010 class. I was considering applying to Lecom's campus in Florida and I figured you guys would be able to help me out the most.
I was wondering what the supplemental application asked, as in, the questions it asked for the personal statement.
Also, since you guys have already applied and gotten interviews and stuff, I figured it would be best to ask you guys if its worth it at this point to even apply to the school 😕. I have already applied to other schools and man, in all honesty, money doesnt grow on trees so if I can save myself a couple of dollars, I'd only be happy to. Thanks guys and good luck with the application process and all the fabulous decisions you will have to make with it 🙂

anyone heard back from nov 19th interview?

not yet.. waiting though.. Did Jackie emailed anyone here?
how did you feel about the interview. I felt ok but not so much excited about it..

were you at the morning session or afternoon? i feel okay about it too..no one emailed me yet..am still waiting and its killing me..do i know you man ? maybe we met 😀

If you interviewed at the Nov 19 session, then you will not hear back until next week or the week after. She said at the interview that because of the Thanksgiving holiday we won't hear for 2-3 weeks.

I was at the morning session and am anticipating hearing back too, but don't worry because it has only been one week so far.

do you mind if i ask your name? maybe we talked during the morning session ? 😉

I was at the nov 19th afternoon session and the decision has already been made so if someone is really anxious, you could email/call Jackie and she would let you know, otherwise formal letters should be here hopefully end of next week.

What did other interviewees think?! is this your first choice?

optimistic you got a call already? I guess I got rejected 🙁

During the interview, they told us that they will send a letter regarding our status. They will not call. You could call and ask about your status, I did. Then a few days later my acceptance letter was in the mail.

I was a student of LECOM-B. I think the most horrible and most expensive mistake I ever made would be to apply to that specific school. I walked away in time before I commute suicide. Word of advice: If you have any other choice by all means go for it. If you decide to go to LECOM, I will give you any info you want. I totally understand what you are going through because I have been there and done that. Good luck!

Thank you soooo much! 🙂
Why did you walk away from it though? Was it really that hard or something? You totally don't have to share if it makes you uncomfortable though

I have an interview with lecom-b this thursday, and i'm extremely nervous since it will be my first interview :scared:...
for those of you who have experienced the interview, do you have any tips or advice?
and is any one else interviewing on december 3rd?

be prepared for a writing assessment, don't worry though, it's an easy article and just make sure you don't put any of your opinions, just summarize the article 🙂

as for the intervew, take a deep breath and just relax. they are just there to get to know you and why you want to be a pharmacist..

good luck!

I was P2 student. Plz understand I am not trying to discourage anybody. For those of you whose going to the interview don’t worry it is a piece of cake. The interview is a one to one and they also have a group discussion. They will give you an article to read and you will discuss it with your group. Just make sure you participate. Don’t be quite. Most of the interview goes like why pharmacy…why you….why lecom…etc
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!! and uncbiograd, maybe i'll see you there! good luck!

I am currently a student at LECOM and I am a P2 and I do not think you are giving a fair representation of the school. I think that what you are doing is being unfair. You have not even given a reason as to why you think it was a horrible mistake. These statements up to this point hold no basis. Pharmacy school is tough and you have to learn how to deal with all situations that come your way. I am sorry you feel that way about our school, but I don't think your preparation was any less deserving than any other school you would have gone to. We have tough teachers and school is very demanding but I am confident that I am going to come out to LECOM kicking some ass because of how well we are being prepared. The fact that we have Jambehkar alones gives me the satisfaction of knowing that our system works. I have many friends in other schools and I can personally tell you that we run circles around them when it comes to pharmacokinetics and pharmaceutics solely based on the fact that we had a professor that did not mess around when it came to teaching us. I am grateful for having had such a bad ass in my presence teaching me. Although, at times I hated him because of how hard he was, I cannot take away the fact that he has made most of us kick ass when it comes to learning fundamentals of pharmacy. Valencia i think you let politics get in the way of your educations which you should have never let happen. You should have stuck it out and in the end you would have been a better person for it. I hope the best for you and do not shatter the dreams of other students because you have a personal vendetta. For some this is a dream and they are trying their best right now just to have the opportunity that you let go to waste so easily. Think about all you did to get to LECOM to have just thrown it all away in a blink of an eye. I remember when i was applying, I would have done anything to get into pharmacy school and now that I am in whenever times get rough and I haven't slept in a while I remind myself that statement. "I wanted this so badly so I can't bitch about it now. Suck it up it will all be over soon. That is what gets me through the day."

Hi, I was accepted a few weeks ago into Lecom-B. Here is what I know based on my interview, reasearch, and what-not. Last year 100 percent of Alternates were eventually accepted into Lecom-B. Since Lecom is a new school, they do not pay very much attention to PCAT scores, in fact they didn't even require PCAT scores for their first class three years ago and conducted their interviews by phone. Since Lecom is looking to expand their program to 120 students per class by next year you have a better chance to get in this year. However, the projected amount of students applying to Lecom this year is estimated at about 500, which is 100 more than last year. Chances are you will be accepted, but most schools do not start accepting alternates until the end of the application cycle draws near, so you may not hear anything until the spring. And Lecom is no longer making personal phone calls to their accepted students anymore, I recieved an acceptance letter instead, and I was really looking forward to talking to the Dean 🙁. Hope that helps 🙂

Hold on I think I recognize your name, I talked to you briefly during the tour. You were on the "blue" team lol, am I correct? I'm the guy with the long hair lol. You told me you were still waiting for a response from Nova at the time. I got into Lecom, but Nova made me an alternate 🙁. How about you?

Hey IvanIsaax, how did you do on Nova's interview? I just interviewed and I'm a little nervous about it because I don't think I nailed it as well as I did Lecom's. Do you think your interview made you an alternate? 😕 I have 6-8 weeks to find out so I'm getting all jittery :scared:

Hi Minun, I would say no, it was not the interview that made me an alternate. Everything went fine, and my brother who goes to Nova asked the person who interviewed me (who happens to be his teacher! lol) how I did, and she said I had nothing 2 worry about. Unfortunately I do have something 2 worry about now. It was probably more my credentials. I lack a bachelors, I don't have any pharmacy-related experience, etc., things that Nova considers important from their applicants. But don't worry too much, u got ur interview relatively early, so there is a good chance u'll at least be put as an alternate. Best of luck!! 😉

Thanks for the reply IvanIsaax, I really hope so...I'm keeping my fingers crossed until the day the letter arrives...best of luck to you too :luck:

I have heard this too. Nova seems to REALLY value pharmacy experience. I have heard various scenarios where people with really great stats were flat out rejected, but people who have a lot of experience or other credentials got in, perhaps straight from community college, lower stats, etc. I didn't apply to Nova but I know some people who have either worked there or currently attend.
