I interviewed yesterday with the first group of interviewees at LECOM-Bradenton. I fell in love with the school, the students, and the area. I have already been accepted to NSU and would be thrilled to attend, but I have to say that, if I am accepted to LECOM, I will be accepting the invitation. PBL sounds awesome. I cannot wait to start.

congrats on ur acceptance to NSU 🙂 How is the surrounding area around Lecom bradenton??

I interviewed yesterday as well. I fell in love with the school as well. I was really quite impressed. Who were you? I was one of the girls from Tampa.

to those who accepted in LECOM do you mind to share with us your GPA and MCAT,i will apply next year

Thank you, aishoo. The area was quiet and calm, but there were still things to do. I really liked it. Housing was available close to the school- expensive, but available.

I have not actually been accepted to LECOM-Brad. I just interviewed yesterday. However, if it helps, I had a 3.5 overall, a 3.6 science. I also had 3+ years experience as a RN in an inpt pediatrics floor. MCAT was 26N- I opted not to retake the test...

Soccer,

I was the girl from alabama-kind of tall with long hair. Which girl from tampa were you? Glad to know you loved theschool, too. Being from tampa, this is your natural number one choice?

I was the one with brown hair, the other girl from Tampa had blonde hair. LECOM is number 1 choice and a big part of it is that it is close to all my family and where I grew up, but I really like the PBL and think that it is a really good fit for me. I was also really impressed with the school and its technology. I also thought that the staff and students were wonderful. It seems like a very nice place to go to med school and I would be honored to attend. Hopefully we get some good news next week! Good luck!

Hey everybody,

I will be interviewing at LECOM-Bradenton on Oct 27th and I am glad to hear some good things about the school. Just how expensive is housing right around the school? I would assume that since tuition is ~$13,000 less than most schools that will help with the higher cost of living.

I'm assuming when you say housing you mean apartments. This is originally from a list from student services at LECOM-B, and may be a few months out of date, but should give you some idea. The Springs seems to be the most popular place, perhaps followed by Carlton Arms.

Don't forget that the LECOM hosuing just got the OK from the commissioners. Not that I think it would be done by the time you all end up in school, but buildings are flying up in the area, so I would imagine it would get done fairly quick, almost definitely by the next year. It should be cheap, and closer than any other apartments. Too bad I'll be gone by then.

I didn't realize that they finally got the OK for the housing project. That would be REALLY convenient. Still, I live in a pretty damned nice place; it's pretty big. My roomate and I spend $550/month each for a 3BR, 2 1/2 bath, townhouse-style condo with a garage in a "gated" community. There's a fitness center, pool, and a nice pond in the middle. We're 7 to 8 miles from school, and really close to just about anything you ever needed. Electricity costs us $65 each (in the hottest months of the summer), water and sewer are $16 each, and 80 channels of "basic" cable with high-speed internet costs us $44 each. We have another bedroom, so we could have another roomate if we wanted, but there really isn't a need. You can survive rather well on the budget they gave us if you are willing to have a roommate. You can still live OK on your own, but it would be a little harder.
