LECOM class of 2008

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you guys and gals are looking for the perspective of an MSIII, please let me know or PM with me any questions. I have taken the boards and can give you advice on that, or I can talk about anything else you'd like to know. Good luck.

good job russ on covering all the books 🙂 i just got done moving to my new place and all of those books were the bane of my moving. did you do any cardio?
Hey Neeja,
Nope, haven't cracked open the cardio module yet. Maybe the week before but we'll see. I bought the newer 1st aid book so I've been going throught that lightly.

I actually did the book review for a new ISP guy that Marty e-mailed me about. I figured since I already did it, might as well post it. Of course my nice highlights in Word didn't make it.

So are you out of Glen Mills and living with Michelle? I remember hearing something about that. I'm trying to find a way I can make these last few weeks last longer. I'll let you know if I find the secret.

Russ--- I pretended to open the cardio module, remembered it was summer, and quickly closed it 🙂. I just moved in to willow wood, and although moving was a pain, the new place is nice. Did you find out anything about the club fair thing on Sunday for orientation yet? I haven't heard back.... anyway, let me know if you know how to somehow magically turn back time to the beginning of summer!

I was wondering where everyone is buying their books at? should we go to lecom bookstore, border's, or buy them online at amazon? Thanks so much.

If you're going to buy new I'd just stick with the bookstore. And if you don't end up using (or writing in) the book you can get your money back. Even at the end of the year.

For used books I use a the search tool below.
http://www.bestwebbuys.com/books/

E-bay is good, but very hit-n-miss

I'd also just use the bookstore. Prices are as good as you'll find online for new books and everything's usually in stock.
Also look into buying books from second years. I bought 3/4 of my books last year from someone and saved a few hundred bucks.

I just got a letter in the mail today from lecom saying we have a quiz the first day of school at 4pm.
where did the summer go!!!!! 🙁 🙁

I remember at one point during orientation, we were told that we had a quiz. It's actually just to get your name and seat number into the grading system for exams.

thanks for the info on the books.

i have a question for my class- has anyone gotten an application yet for the big brother big sister program thing yet? i wonder when we will get it?

jen

i think they will have aps for the big brother/sister program during orientation. does any msII know if there is a habitat for humanity program?

see everyone on the 27th,

adrian

All clubs at LECOM have to do a community service event each semester. I'm pretty sure some of them work with Habitat for Humanity

Yeah I think doctortobee is right. That's a bogus quiz to make sure they can e-mail you with your grade. But just in case...better memorize Netters before hand 😀

I didn't find out about big brother until right before school. Most people don't find out until orientation. The Sunday of orientation you will have club presentations(you'll all get to see me because I'm the president of a club..yah) followed by meetings with your bigs.
So far, I haven't heard anything from LECOM about orientation. I'm also an ambassador and ambassadors help with orientation and I haven't heard a peep. LECOM is slow to do anything.

Hey guys, please check out the lecom dinner thread if you are interested in getting together at friday's...I need to know how many, thanks!

Yes, for those of you who may have missed the orientation dinner thread I posted please check it out and let me know who will be attending the dinner on the 27th at 7 (at Fridays for those new comers). Anyone may post their name to the dinner thread or send me an email at [email protected]. There are about 30 of us now so it should be a really great time! I look forward to seeing you all soon! Nicci

Hey Folks,
I know this "technically" doesn't belong on this thread, but I want this to be for LECOM people only.
I have two copies of Moore's Clinically Oriented Anatomy. One is the 3rd edition(very good condition-only minor highlighting, marks, etc) and the other is the 4th edition(better condition) which is what the required text was last year. Either one will be more than sufficient as a supplemental text.
I will sell the 3rd VERY cheap...less than $20. I will negotiate for the 4th.
I'd be willing to give you the books when I'm in Erie for orientation.
PM me for details or questions.

hey are a lot of people coming by themselves tomorrow night for dinner or bringing someone? see you guys soon! 🙂 and if people don't know how to get there i can give you directions.

hey lecomers- i just wanted to say it was nice to meet everyone!!! 😀
also i just found out that i'm an aunt- my sister just had a baby! 😀

Congrats! 👍 :hardy:

*shudders at the thought of having to do that class again... :scared: *
