LECOM-E vs CUSOM

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yeah you should probably list your personal list of pros and cons of each if you want help. Any opinion we give will essentially just be our personal preference if we don’t have an idea of what you are looking for

Sorry newer to posting so thanks for the pointer here are my pros/cons...

LECOM-E
Pros:
-low tuition and coa
-PBL-- so not the usual required lectures, more independent learning
-actually liked the Erie area ( some dont like it but im from the midwest and it had that kind of vibe)
-admissions has been helpful (responded within 10 mins each time i have emailed)
-Good match list
-Has teaching hospital

Cons:
-Mixed reviews about the school in general ( a lot negative... not sure how much weight to give on these...)
-No in person anatomy lab (because of PBL... options the 1st summer to have some experience with it but was considering surgery as an option but dont know if that would be enough... have had anatomy in ugrd)
-somewhat outdated facilities
-No SIM lab

CUSOM
Pros:
-loved the facilities (SIM lab) and faculty at the interview
-Close friend that lives in Raleigh less than an hour away
-Good first match list
-Faculty and staff seem like they genuinely care about the students
-Seems to have accomplished a huge amount for a new school in short time and heading in the right direction for the future

Cons:
-not a fan of the area, much more rural than I am used to, would have to commute to the school.
-mandatory attendance
-slightly higher tuition and coa
-Got a weird "vibe" from the other people interviewing and some of the students... not sure if I would fit in with the school or the area.

Ultimately I want a good education and not to limit myself to one specific area of the country or specialty. I am struggling with prioritizing what pros are worth it. Thanks for any help!!

Most of the issues with LECOM come with the location and how you are treated as a student. They do have mandatory attendance as well, which isn't as much of an issue when you're in PBL. Mandatory dress code (CUSOM does as well in this comparison). Location being the one of the snowiest in the country and the "feel" there (which you state you like more than CUSOM). The curriculum and board scores are solid at LECOM and they have more students graduated so more of a reputation than CUSOM. SIM lab not a big deal. You won't have much time to see your friend (sorry).

Based on this list, I'd think LECOM would be a better choice for you. If you like it after the interview day, might as well save $10k a year and live in a location you like more.
