Hey guys,

I called LECOM Erie this morning and found out they will take people from the alternative list that have not been accepted anywhere yet. LECOM Erie will get this information from Pharmcas in the next 2 to 3 weeks... So hopefully they will call anyone on the Alternative List in about 3 to 4 weeks.

Has anyone heard from LECOM in the past couple weeks to confirm this maybe? 😀
 
I received a letter from LECOM ERIE today, it's about reconfirm my status of alternate candidate, I hope that's means the school started accept students from the alternate list
 
Has anyone on the alternate list heard anything from LECOM Erie lately?
 
I got the call today! I had given up, so I'm in shock. Good luck to everyone else on the list.

3.5 GPA, 60% PCAT, Pharmacy Club Treasurer, 1 community service activity, P/T Pharm. Tech.
I'm 35, have a Bachelor's degree and left my career as an airline pilot to become a Pharmacist. I also have a wife and 3 boys, so my situation is different than most.

Hey i was wondering if anyone else got a call from lecom??!!...i emailed them and they said they had no updates just when any one withdrew they would bringthe files to committee and then call people....
 
I'm still waiting, it seems like it's been forever 🙁 I sure hope some people will withdraw so us alternates can actually get looked at and possibly called! How long do those that are accepted have to withdraw? does anyone know? LECOM said they have up until the first day of class to tell alternate ppl if they are accepted - what if some of us get accepted like the day before class? it will be hard to find a place to live on that short of a notice! 🙁 sorry for all the complaining, I'm just so tired of waiting like everyone else.

I've just turned down my admission, so one more seat open for you 🙂

( just their policy : ALWAYS dress up with A TIE while at school is a deal breaker for me , I just simply can't perform at my best while being choked up all the time).

well i guess thats good news for us because that means that people are still declining...but at this point i think fewer and fewer are declining...so well just wait and see i guess....
and dont worry about the complaining...ive been doing it ever since i got waitlisted....🙁...ill just cross my fingers!
 
I just turned down my spot also. I'm going to WVU.
 
well now i'm really lost...LECOM Bradenton called me today and said erie had only a few spots left and that i would be a better candidate for Bradenton (i didn't apply to bradenton, they are sharing applications with Erie now) Well my problem is that my mother is very ill and i cannot move to florida. I need to be close to her to help out when i'm needed. (I live in western ny so i'm only like an hour from erie). Another problem is that now i'm on both alternate lists, and Bradenton starts Aug 25th where Erie doesn't start til Sept. 7th or something. Bradenton said it'd be very likely they'd call me...well, I don't want to refuse the acceptance to Bradenton b/c i want to get into any pharmacy school so bad, but at the same time, I honestly cannot be so far away i can't help out my mom and family. I'm so confused now, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
wow you are put in a tough situation....i guess it depends on how badly you want to start pharmacy school this year....you can always apply to erie next year and finish the same time you would if you went to bradenton this year.....what are your stats like...im just trying to compare myself with other people who got called to see if i have any chance because i didnt get any calls! good luck with your decision
 
I got the exact same call from Bradenton today. I also didn't really know what to do. I wonder how many people they contacted.

My Stats are:

79 composite pcat score
3.51 overall gpa
3.3 science gpa
currently no pharmacy experience, i've applied to 5 pharmacies for pharm tech positions, but no luck so far. If i'm not accepted this year, I'll hopefully just get a pharm tech job for this year so I'll have experience and reapply again.

What are your stats?

well
my pcat was only like a 53 which was pretty bad...i have a 3.45 overall gpa..im not sure what my science gpa is.....i do have pharmacy experience i work at a place called McKesson...however i applied really late in the process...and i just completed my sophomore year so that might hurt me along with my pcat

Did Bradenton call you back and tell you that you were accepted? and if so, what did you tell them...I think i will have to say no if they call me 🙁

This past tuesday LECOM in Erie called to say i was accepted. Now i am in a craze trying to find an apartment in such short notice! Best of luck to the rest of you!

That's awesome you got accepted...congrats!! 🙂 I was just curious what your stats were?
 
Hey I just got the call from lecom erie on Thurs. . . . . i was so shocked i thought it was too late....but im really excited now really nervous...good luck everyone
 
just call cancel my spot last Friday. Therefore, they will call the next person on the alternate list.
 
Any news yet?
 
I got interviewed on apr 22nd and they put me on waiting list. So Is there anyone else who got accepted after apr 22nd.
