I have an interview at lecom-erie and was wondering if anyone has interviewed there yet? If so, could you give me some information on the format and just any advice before I interview (10-21-05). Thanks.

Do you know about the interview feedback forum:
http://www.studentdoctor.net/interview/interview_read.asp

I hope someone helps you out. I hope to be hitting up this thread if I get an interview.

😀

Dont worry, the interview was not bad at all. The actual interview was like 25 minutes, everything else was presentations about financial aid, curriculum, etc. And you can get every single question from interview feedback. Good luck :luck:

Was it 25 min total or was it 25 min with each interviewer? From what I gather you interview individually with 3 different interviewers (so is it 25 or like an hour total). Also, I was wondering what the article is that you are supposed to read. I guess I dont get what you are reading and why. Are there any particulars about the school I should know about and make sure to point out? Thanks a lot.

Hey,

I interviewed this past week and it was really chill. You will be interviewed by either 2 or 3 interviewers at once. Each taking turns asking a set of questions. The article is no big deal, just have to read it and give a quick and dirty summary (about 1 min.). Just review LECOM's website and the interview feedback on SDN and you should be set.
Just a few unique aspects:
3 different learning pathways... very cool
prosected cadavers
dress code and mandatory attendance
TONS of rotation options
School hospital (Mill Creek)
Tuition is not crazy

Good luck it is not that bad. 😉

The article you are going to have to read and summarize is not as bad as it sounds. I wish I had known that ahead of time so I wouldn't be worried over it. It is not a scientific/research article. It is a somewhat like a science article that you commonly find in your local newspapers or MSNBC. It is only a little over a page (12 point font, I think). The one in Bradenton is way shorter, a little over half a page. Good luck. :luck:

Thanks sooooo much. Good luck with all of your interviews, and hopefully you and I both get into lecom!!!

My interview was with two people at the same time, and they took turns in asking questions. And then at the end they asked me about the article. The article was not scientific at all, and in my case I read it 30 min before they pulled me out for an interview . 🙂

Hey Hey Hey... I am interviewing the same day as you... how exciting!

I just interviewed today and they will ask you 10 questions which are all on the interview feedback. I was interviewed by 3 people at once, they take turns asking you questions--have examples to back up all your answers. One of my interviewers was actually a MD. I didn't know that until after I was done--no matter though I didn't say anything negative about the MD vs DO thing.

It was more laid back, no grilling just those standard questions they give everyone to have a relative point to compare all applicants. I was nervous though since it was my 1st interview.
