Hey everybody,

I was curious if anyone had any suggestions about interview questions or the process as whole for LECOM? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The "beauty" of the Lecom interviews (both Erie and Bradenton) is that everyone is asked a standardized list of questions. Look through thw interview feedback section and you'll get a lot of info:

Some people don't like it because it seems impersonal sometimes, but it puts everyone on a fairly level playing field. You have the ability to prep for the answers ahead of time. Yet, the "correct" answers are not always what they are loking for. Most of your interviewers, even though they'll be taking notes on your answers, will still be looking for how you respond to the questions. Try some mock interviews and record them on video if you can so that you can see how well you interview and how comfortable you look. Look at things like body language and clues to how nervous you are. Most people are surprised to see themselves on video. :luck::luck:

Thanks for the advice. As I was looking at a lot of the questions asked in the interview, some people wrote about the "9 basic questions". What or where can I find those questions?

From my experience, you have to go through a lot of the interview feedback to find the people who have listed all 9 questions. Hopefully someone here already knows them.

Thanks to whoever originally posted this in the interview feedback. These were pretty close to the questions I was asked. #12 is referring to an article you will be given to read, and then will be asked to summarize during the interview.

LECOM – FL Interview Questions

The first question was the tell me something not on your file question.
The rest, in no particular order are:
1. Why osteopathy?
2. Medical school is stressful, how do you relieve yourself of stress.
3. Tell me about your leadership roles, describe.
4. How do you resolve conflict.
5. Tell me about your communication, are you better written or verbal.
6. Strengths (it was worded differently, but I can remember how)
7. After my strengths he said, “and what do you need to work on?”
8. I was asked something about PBL
9. Give an example of when a group approach worked better than an individual.
10. What would be some reasons to choose a D.O over an MD.
11. Have you been treated by a DO.
12. Summarize the article on xxx (it was an easy and interesting read, so don’t sweat it).

The questions above were pretty much all I was asked as well. Depending on who interviews you though don't be that worried if/when you don't get much "non-verbal" feedback when answering a question. When I would give an answer they were fairly busy writing down notes and didn't really give me much feedback in the way of smiling or conversing at length much beyond their "script", so it can throw you off a little but don't worry.

Thanks for the feedback everybody-
