LECOM Interviews...

I interview coming up with LECOM-B and LECOM-E and am looking for some info on what to expect.

Will they have me write an essay? Explain.
Do they discuss an article? Explain.
Should I bring a notepad and pen?

Any tips?

I have also interview at LECOm - Erie on Jan 28. How do you know whether they have accepted you or not? Waiting for mail or checking at the online account(user id and password ) they gave us when we apply to LECOM? How long does it take to hear from them after interview? Pls reply. Thanks.

It took them less than 7 days to notify me.

I interviewed at Erie.
No you wont write an essay
No discussions of articles. You will just be given an overview of the curriculum, financial and housing information, as well as info on rotations, and a tour.
I dont think you'll need a notepad. You might wanna jot down a few things so it wouldnt hurt to take. your own.
Tips? just check out the interview section for possible questions, smile and be yourself.

How long did it take after you submitted your supplemental to hear back about interviews? I submitted mine on Christmas day and now I'm starting to get a little anxious.
 
After I submitted my suppl application on Dec 22, and I received interview invitation on Dec 30. I already know inadvance from their website by loging on with my account no and password. U can check the status of ur application by using the user id and password you received from them.

Now, does anyone know a rough estimate of the total cost of tuition for each campus's complete pathway? Their website didn't provide an exact comparison. I guess what I want to know is, would I be paying more for LECOM-B because its a 4-year? Or is the tuition adjusted to be equal for each pathway? Please do not say anything about being out in the work force a year earlier, my question is about tuition, thank you in advance!

The tuition is not adjusted, it is the same whether you choose the 3 or 4-year pathway. Therefore, it is actually cheaper to go to LECOM-E since you don't spend an extra year on housing/tuition. (Not to mention your in the job market a year earlier.)

My own cost of attendance for 3-years would probably be around 100k (modest living). As oppose to around 140k for LECOM-B. Your probably saving about 160k if you go the 3-year route because your in the job market that much sooner.

I have an interview end of jan as well. Is yours for bradenton? if so any idea which hotels are good to stay at?

Hey.. Im not sure if this is the right place 2 ask this.. but if i applied 2 both LECOM campuses.. wud i need 2 pay and complete the supplementals twice? meaning $50 for Erie and $50 for Bradenton?

Erie is also very cheap. I live in a large 2 bedroom apartment 13 minutes from school for $515/month. I think Bradenton is more expensive.

As a LECOM Erie pharmacy student, I keep reminding myself of this whenever I leave the house in cold, gloomy, snowy Erie. It'll be worth it to finish a year early.

Info for last year is posted on pharmCAS, for Bradenton they interviewed 350 people for 95 spots. A bit higher than the average. 🙁 Most other schools interview about 2x the number of students than they have openings for. Hope that helps, sort of....
 
Does anyone else have an interview on Feb 24 in Erie? I was planning on getting a hotel room, etc. If anyone wants to room together to split costs, let me know.
 
srry guys.. but this question is about the supplementals.. didnt want to start a new thread.. but for the essay.. it says to "keep your essay to no more than one page of text or you may have a submission problem." Does it mean one full page in MS WORD? or the amount of space they give on the actual supplementals, without needing to scroll? How long were the essays that you wrote? approximately how many characters with spaces? Thank you in advance

Rule of thumb... one page in MS word. Anymore is excessive because the admissions committees do not want to read anything more than that for 2k + applicants.
 
I submitted my supplemental on December 13 and still haven't heard anything back from them. 🙁

I'm in the same boat.. just an email saying my application is complete, and my status says my application is being reviewed by the admissions committee. I guess that's better than a quick "no way!", but I'm still waiting anxiously to hear something!

which campus are you applying to? My application was complete as of 10/20 and I didn't get offered an interview until January. I applied to the Bradenton campus.
 
I just arrived here in Florida a little while ago! It was 70 degrees 🙂 I can't wait to see the school tomorrow!

Bradenton as well, trying to be patient.. :xf:hoping to get an interview the last week of Febuary - I'll be in the area anyway! (ok, not likely... but worth hoping for!)

Do we need to wait till they invite us to fill the suplementals or we need to send it with pharmcas application any way( what is the website for supp). I am new, Please advice me.Thanks

You gotta submit PharmCas application first, after that it will be verified and sent to LECOM.....then LECOM will verify and send you instructions for supplemental appication...

hey is it too late to apply? i heard the spots are filling fast...so would i be wasting my time and money? (i know they extended the deadline..)

You need to wait till they rec'v your PharmCAS application, then they send you a log in and instructions for the supplemental.

I talked to Heather in admissions today, the interview dates still available were 2/10, 2/17, 2/24 and 2/26. I asked about early March dates and was told they weren't currently scheduling anything in March...
Hope that helps anyone still waiting to hear!

I interviewed earlier this month at the campus in Bradenton. The interview is one on one. We also had to read an article, write a paragraph, come up with a question about the article, and then have a discussion about the article. You'll find out within a week if you're accepted, which is really nice. Hope this helps and good luck! 🙂
 
I got a call this morning from Heather and she invited me for an interview on Feb. 10th. 😀 I'm quite nervous, so any tips or info about the interview will be greatly appreciated.

now im nervous...I interviewed in Bradenton on Tuesday, and i checked my LECOM portal and it used to say it was a pleasure interviewing you we will let you know.... But now it says "The admissions committee has not made a decision on your file.." :xf::xf:

Mine says that too...I hope that doesn't mean I'm waitlisted. I felt like I had a pretty good interview.
 
I hope not, I think my interview went pretty well... I'm hoping to get a phone call sometime this week!!!:xf:
 
I interviewed on Tuesday as well and my portal status changed to "The admissions committee has made a decision on your file and should receive notice soon" on Friday. I received a call from the Dean yesterday for the formal acceptance. Good luck everyone.
 
I received my supplemental application awhile ago, but I havent gotten around to finish my essay for this school yet... and now it seems like they wont have many seats left, so I was wondering should I even bother to apply now even though they extended the deadline to March?
 
Has anyone else heard, for those of you who interviewed on Tuesday the 27th???
