It says that they require a letter from a DO. Is that recommended and they really mean a physician in general (i guess i answered my own question by typing "require")?

Also, if they will accept an MD Letter, if I have a letter already written would that suffice, or do I have to ask the MD to rewrite it pertaining to the *outline* or *format* that they have given?

As far as following a letter outline, that question goes for most DO schools.

Thanks,

A DO letter is, in fact, REQUIRED for LECOM.

You don't need any particular form/outline/whatever. Any ol' DO letter will work. 👍

LECOM does required a DO letter...however, I managed to work out a solution with LECOM Bradenton and had to withdraw my app from LECOM Erie.

I was raised in a rural, medically underserved area and there were very few DOs within a reasonable distance...and I had a hard time finding one when I moved to New Orleans a few months ago. If you are offered an interview at LECOM Bradenton they will schedule an interview with one of their DOs and he/she will write you the required letter of recommendation. If you plan to take advantage of this....be sure to call them prior to submitting the AACOMAS app.

LOL this misunderstanding is entertaining.

Engineered, good to see ya back, man! 😀

Thanks. Every time I get into trouble it happens as a result of a post in Pre-allo, so I'm just going to stay out of there from now on.

I'm pretty sure that if it was against CB, most of the osteo forum would have torn his face off :caution:
