Does anyone know if LECOM is notorious for long delays in admissions decisions? My secondary was completely finished and submitted on July 8th and my status on the admissions page has been sitting at "Application is Under Review" since the beginning of August. I'm an in-state applicant and have a petty well-rounded application (3.5 / 3.4 / 30 from a top 20 university + many clinical hours and two years of research). I know anything can happen in the admissions cycle, but I was kind of thinking LECOM would be a "safe school" even though I know those don't exist. I originally had LECOM in my top 3 choices for the fact that I want to do a residency of some sort in the western PA area after graduation. The fact that it's been this long since I've heard anything is getting me kind of worried now. I've interviewed at a number of osteopathic and allopathic schools and been accepted at PCOM and Marian to this point. Is this sort of wait normal for LECOM? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You might have better luck in the LECOM school specific thread in pre-DO. That said, that is a long time but I am in the same boat with a number of schools so I have a feeling it's not uncommon. I wouldn't feel too down with an acceptance at PCOM though

It is somewhat random so it's hard to say.

Have you tried calling them? I would try calling and getting a hold of someone, and probably email them as well.

It's not out of the ordinary for them to take a long time and be selective on who they interview. When I interviewed I got the ii within 2 months, but other people had been complete 7 months earlier. That said, I would expect that you'd get interviewed earlier rather than later with your even stats.

If LECOM is higher on your list than all of your acceptances, I'd definitely try to contact them and get a hold of someone.

Last year LECOM B took 2 months to get back to me and LECOM E never actually did. I'm finishing 1st semester elsewhere and still "under review" with LECOM from last year.

I did call and speak to someone, a man named Jamie. Wasn't helpful as far as getting me accepted, but he was pleasant and gave me an update.

Its hard to say. I heard back from LECOM-E for an ii a few days after I completed my secondary. I haven't heard a thing from LECOM-B and I applied/finished secondary at the same time. It certainly doesn't hurt to reach out to them to ensure they have everything they need.

I had a terrible experience applying to graduate school for a masters program. If I hadn't harassed them I would not have gotten in. Even though my student portal said they had all of my application materials and test scores, I hadn't heard back from them waaaay past the deadline. When I finally called, and got someone on the phone, they told me that someone had "misplaced" my materials, even though they confirmed they had received them at one point. Ultimately I had to overnight all of my application materials again, and was accepted within a week of doing that. If I hadn't ever reached out, I would have had no idea why I never heard from them…. also I probably wouldn't have gotten into med school lol.
