I just got my acceptance at LECOM and I was just wondering if someone could tell me where the best place to live is. Thanx.

First, congratulations on your acceptance to LECOM. You'll get a great education at this school.

As for housing, I too recommend Lakeview. It is fairly new and well-run. The price is excellent too if you have a roommate. I wouldn't say you have to get on the waitlist now, but I would start looking around late April/May. They don't really know who's moving out until a month or so before usually.

DO NOT move into Granada. It's cheap and that's about the only good thing I can say about it. Horrible management, poor facilities, farther from school (than Lakeview)...it can make your first year more miserable than it has to be.

Check out the 1st year student info on lecomsga.com. Also, you'll be receiving a housing packet from admissions. If you're interested in a place, post it here to see if anyone has any info on it.

I put my name on the waitlist year in March and barely got an apt for this year...

Scenery Hills is just like Lakeview. Although their units are very close together, it is less than a mile from school.

I lived in a studio in Willow Wood Village (which also has town houses). It is a really nice place, and the maintenance people are very quick to come to your apartment if you have any problems. And my rent was only $275 a month (great, huh? 🙂 ) And it was also only a 2 1/2 minute drive to school. They also supposedly had a waitlist for their places, but I kept on calling them and telling them I was interested and I ended up getting a place there (luckily, because if I hadn't I would have ended up living in Granada 😱 )

by the way, going off on a tangent (LECOMers are used to tangents from a certain path professor 😉 ) I don't like this new eek smiley

Ditto for scenery hills (great location...7min walk to school IF you want to walk)....Im an MSIII and have lived here for 3 years. My apt may be open in July (my roommate is an MSI and Im not sure if hes staying). Great location.
There is also some apts soon to be finished on the corner of Ellsworth and W grandview (about 600ft from school). Not sure who owns the property....its rumored to be lecom? Any one know for sure?

I was thinking it was LECOM as well...it seems like they would have put up some housing already...then they could have the monopoly on our ENTIRE student loan check instead of just the tuition part! 🙂
I don't know for sure, though.
