Hello guys!!!!!!

My apologies if I have not answered back right way. But here I am, I've just been busy.
Anyway, yes I got accepted into both LECOM school of pharmacy and MCPHS-Worcester. I really like MCPHS-Worcester, but tuition is SO MUCH CHEAPER in LECOM.
My stats: that's kind of personal but I have a bachelor's degree in biology. Good GPA; never took the PCAT. I have worked and volunteer at different pharmacy settings before.
I applied to LECOM through Pharmcas early in september. I received my acceptance letter a few days ago.
Now I must decide between LECOM and MCPHS-Worcester.

I had a complete applicaton at Lecom around August got interview on mid-feb and got acceptance letter in 1 month later which like mid-march.

my stats: very good gpa, work at retail pharmacy for nearly 2 years. many awards, scholaships award too, and I pick Worcester because its a better city than lecom, i want to study in a fun city even tho worcester is very expensive. I pay deposit for both school, but i will call lecom to reject so a spot left for one of u guy.

Sunnypharm: What was your GPA and PCAT score like? I was just wondering because I saw the Duquesne stats for a couple years ago that said their average GPA for new applicants was 3.9. I don't live far from Duquesne, and it's a nice place but their stats scared me away.

blueshirt - - There is tons of housing around the LECOM area. Have you been up to the area to look at it? I went over break and got on quite a few waiting lists. I'm planning on living in a townhouse close to the school.... very close to the school... in case I have to walk because of the snow If you are interested in specific apartment/townhouse complexes and haven't had a chance to go up and see the area, PM me and I can give you names, numbers, websites, etc.

I am familiar with Erie if you have any questions. I looked at most of the townhouses and apartments close to LECOM. When it comes to housing, it all depends on how close you want to be to the school and how much you want to spend. I visited alot of the housing units if you have any questions about any particular ones, I may have seen them. I don't know where you are from, but housing is very affordable in Erie compared to alot of other places. If you want to get housing real close to the school you probably want to consider getting on a waiting list sometime in the near future. That housing is alot harder to come by.

You might a chance to get accepted to LECOM. It all depends on the phone interview. THAT'S ALL.
Since LECOM admission is based only on GPA, experience, and interview, you better do well during the interview if you want to be competitive.
If you are interviewed by Dr. Tran, you will surely get accepted since he always favor the asian community, if you're interviewed by the chair, Dr. Rigelski, well, you have no chance to get accepted!! (she hates asian people).

She said she felt like she was with publisher's clearing house! The people there have been very kind and helpful through the whole process, as well! Personally, at this point in the game, I would just call and let them know how determined you are, by asking, "what can I do to better my chances of being accepted off of the waiting list?" Also, I would recommend writing them a letter stating what you have been doing this summer, i.e. volunteering, working in a pharmacy, or anything else that would show them you are a good candidate. At least in that case, if they do need to refer back to the wait list, you will be fresh on their minds. Hey, it can't hurt! Good Luck, and let me know if you hear anything!

But the thing is dat everytime i call, they say they do not discuss anything about the waitlist. they dont even have rankings.

Actually I did not write a letter, but I was told by other people that by doing that, your chances of getting in off of the waitlist MIGHT increase. It definitely won't hurt to try. I would honestly get my name circulating out there, though. You want them to remember you and your determination.

I also received a second letter asking me if I still want to be on the waitlist. This is driving me nutt and I don't know exactely what is going on? Hope we will get in, lol,lol.
