is it worth applying to LECOM with a 19 AA/19 TS/16 PAT and a 3.2 overall gpa/~3.0 science gpa? I'm retaking the DAT at the end of July btw
With those scores, I would make LECOM, Meharry, and Howard your top choices.
Dont listen to Negative Nancy's post above mine.
With those stats you could easily interview, if not get accepted, into LECOM.
its a BRAND NEW school!
they're not looking for Harvard-type applicants.
Not sure about GPA (i think it says 2.75 on the website?) but i had called them and spoke with them about my DAT scores, and they said they're looking for 17's across the board.
With a 16, thats close enough that they may consider it.
👍
Umm, I'm not sure what you mean by negative...I was implying that he/she stands a good chance at LECOM......
thanks for the input guys
also, do you guys recommend that i send my app in with my current scores or should i wait until the end of the month to send my updated scores? i understand that the update is in november, correct? i at least want to be in the running for an interview

Its true Meharry and Howard have lower averages than all other schools, but make no mistake about it, they are looking for a very special breed of applicants (minorities with damaged backgrounds), not many fit that bill
So, does new school automatically equate to lower stats? I think I'm missing something...?
^apparently...
the way i look at it is, if your stats are high enough, why bother with a brand new school that is still going through the process of accreditation when you can go to a more reputable school?

Aye,
Even if you have average stats... dont even bother applying because you'll most likely get in somewhere else and not attend lecom - effectively blowing cash that could have been put to better use...

^i disagree with that. i'm not a URM so a 19 AA/19 TS/16 PAT won't get me in anywhere...not even an interview with my state school (UMDNJ) in my opinion

Don't stress so much. I have been looking at predents.com and there are plenty of non-URM students that got into dental schools with those scores.

I am in a worse boat than you are: AA/TS/PAT 18/17/21.
i called today and they said that they "look at the whole applicant" not just test scores..uh..interesting?
Every school will look at the entire application. I still say it is worth it to apply. I don't believe in the argument that one should not apply because you won't end up going there anyway. Anything can go wrong in a given application cycle, LECOM would be a good safety school.
does any1 know what percentage of seats, out of the 100 seats, is reserved for instate students?
