Hey guys ,

After almost a decade at a big chain I have finally decided to do it. I absolutely hated my quality of life ( long hours, high stress, no breaks etc ) but I guess i was holding onto the money (and stability ??)

I am starting with a brand new pharmacy inside an ethnic grocery store (predominantly asian) .Have no idea what the future holds but any advice on how to grow the business will be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone here is micromerchant/primeRX proficient maybe you can give me a few pointers on shortcuts (f functions keys) or if you know of any kind of tutorial that would be helpful. I have used it several times when i worked per diem and it seemed pretty straightforward but I like to use the keyboard a lot (former starcraft player lol)

Give away free stuff to get people to transfer scripts. Winn Dixie does a free rotisserie chicken I think. Not to be racist but you would probably want to tailor the free item to something in the grocery store obviously. Gift cards work as well but I bet free items work better. Obviously the store owner would need to be on board but I have little doubt they would be since you are trying to grow the business obviously. They would probably love you for it.

Doctor detailing is another option. Maybe there is a certain clinic nearby that caters to the same clientele as your store? Build a good relationship with them and they might help send scripts your way.

Do your patients go to a certain church or religious institution? Sponsor their bingo night or school or something to get their good will. Couldn't hurt.

Good for you! I left that dump in one year after starting lol I don't know how you survived 10... and also, a pharmacy inside of an Asian market? lol what part of the country are you at?
