hi everybody
i am a fellow community pharmacist from egypt
i am graduated from 2016 but it wasnt easy for me becoz i get tired psychologically during the university
i stayed extra years in the university so i graduated after long struggle
i am graduated from roughly 9 years
i am now 34.5 yo
i got the preparatory book since two years roughly for Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)

weeks , months passsed i study and leave the board material now i achieved so good not bad at all
i am really amazed by the clinical pharmacy
i understand the prescriptions of doctors now

but sometimes i cant study like now i wonder if i should get the certificate to feel good about myself
i am really feel good about myself after i learned these so nice material but i am eager to get the certificate
i wonder also what is the next step after board certificate ??!!!

should i focus on work and be better as pharmacist and try to make business

you know we are not doctors graduated from medicine university so the scientific field and curing patients and making relation with them is not ours and we should focus on business instead ??....etc

thank you

Well, if you get the BCPS, you can spend the rest of your life jumping through hoops to keep it. You know, writing your SMART goal reflection statements, spending tons of money for CE, etc. So there's always that.

In very large facilities, in large metropolitan areas, I am seeing this being preferred, occasionally demanded, for pure clinical roles. However, recently the federal government VA, DHA is requiring this or a residency for pure clinical roles, though not impossible.

Otherwise, there is no reason to get it, as you can do those clinical roles from working in a hospital and gaining experience over time.

P.S. For the egyptian guy, you missed the boat, nothing to see here.
