Do private schools offer our kids a guaranteed interview if we studied at their dental school?

For example, if I went to UPenn dental school, will my children have a better shot at getting into their undergraduate program from high school?

This question applies to other private schools too such as Harvard, Columbia, and USC etc.

Don't worry about what your kids will do or where they will be. Kids are kind of funny and they'll make their own decisions.

Si go where you will be happy and let your kids do the same.

If you read more into the question, I think he's wondering if he is going to get into school where his daddy went. That's what I took from it.

And the answer is yes. It happens everywhere either officially or unofficially.

At Penn, yes, they have a Legacy and do give preference to applicants that are a part of one.

Creighton has a question on their secondary about alumni in your family.

Haha naw, I'm a second generation here. My dad studied in SUNY-Binghamton, defnintely not a private institution.

I just think that giving our kids a better chance at going to a school that was out of reach for us might be a nice perk. But you're all right, it shouldn't really affect your d-school decision.

Do you mean Penn undergrad will have preference for you even though your parent studied at their professional school?

More than likely: a donor is a donor and Penn loves to promote them from across disciplines and programs. I know that at my white coat ceremony there were some extra bells and whistles for the legacy students in my class. UPenn regards it's students as students and members of the UPenn community first and as graduate students second.
