I am new to the forum so I wanted to call on the experienced pre-dents to assess my situation.

I have a 3.8 GPA/3.8 SGPA. I plan on taking the DAT in August...is August 15th too late??

I am a Virginia Resident, and heres my list of schools (9):

HU
VCU
UMD
NYU
BU
Temple
Tufts
University of Pittsburgh
Case Western University

what are your takes? suggestions? add more? lemme know, thanks!

August 15th is not too late. As long as the schools have your application with LOR and transcripts before then, you should be fine. Why not add NY state schools? They tend to be out of state friendly and they do allow you to change your residency status after one year.

August 15th should be fine as long as you do decent on the test.

Are you an underrepresented minority? If no, I would suggest you take out Howard since they give preference to URM.

Not an URM, but I am HU undergrad now so thats why I'm applying.

Whats the latest date I could take the DAT in August and still expect first round interviews?

Aug. 15 is a pretty good date. I wouldn't think about the latest date you can take it so much as when you think you would be ready to take it. If you put it to the end of the summer, you could be lazy in your studying up til then or you could drive yourself studying the whole summer hardcore. All depends on your style.

Anyways, I think it takes about two to three weeks to get your DAT scores sent after you take the test. If you have all of your AADSAS stuff sent out to your schools by the time you take the test or by the end of August, you'll be good to go if the schools get your scores by the end of August.

I get what your saying, def not trying to get lazy lol.

Is there a certain cut off date that you need everything in to get early interviews and get a Dec 1 acceptance?

some schools have dates. You would have to check out their websites. With your stats, you will be fine. Just get everything else in before Aug. 15. Good luck. Do well on your dats and you will be very, very competitive
:luck:

I took my DAT around that time last year and it worked out fine for me. 🙂

So those 9 schools should be enough?
