I was just wondering if there are any med schools which are lenient on acceptance....dont get me wrong, I'm not looking for short cuts. I'm just asking.

Lenient, I am not sure what you are asking. If you are looking for schools that are more willing to look beyond a lower MCAT or GPA, look into the Osteopathic Schools--their average numbers are usually a little lower and they say they are more likely to look at the "whole person."

Well, what I meant was med schools which make it easier for applicants to get accepted.....I know that DO schools are much more lenient than MD schools , but do u know any specific schools?

I'm not in yet, but I have some pretty good assurances at Tulane...I'm finishing my PhD here in a few months.

You might be able to find 'more lenient' schools...but it has to match up with you. I do AIDS research so I am applying to all the schools with major aids research programs...even some reach schools. Personally I know U of Chicago is willing to overlook bad MCATS if you're older, unique and had a career change...knew a guy who used to work the stock exchange and got in with a 24....and they love researchers...an MD/PhD with a 27 and a few publications...if you're from North Dakota... Tulane has a former sports writer...although I think he's an idiot (took a class with him I'm sure he didn't get in on his numbers). Tulane also likes jazz musicians...like by boyfriend with his sax.

You need to look for schools with a possible angle for you...I've said this before, but I used the US News and World report book that has a stat in the lower left-hand corner for percentage of students coming NOT DIRECTLY FROM COLLEGE....I eliminated schools with low %s here and added a few with really high percents...if Dartmouth accepts 63% not right from undergrad ie other cool stuff...I have a better shot. Baylor 10%, perhaps not (but its a huge pediatric aids school-so back on the list for me). Just a suggestion. I'll let you know if it works!
