Hello,

I attended med school in the USA for two years and did very well (Honors and High Pass). During my second year I had a family crisis which required me to take an LOA to address and resolve. During the LOA my physical and mental health plummeted, I began treatment but eventually I had to withdraw due to the 6 year graduation rule. After withdrawing I finally got my health to improve, my health providers and I figured out what medications worked and am in a much better place mentally and physically.

I always wanted to be a doctor since I was little and now I want to try again and reapply. Even though I’m in my 30s I just can’t let go of this dream.

Is it even possible for someone who withdrew from a United States med school to reapply and get admitted again? If anyone has been in this situation can you DM me some advice or your experience?

Thanks 🙏

If you want to do it, go for it and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Obviously it will be a red flag that you left and didn’t finish, but it’s all about how you spin it and your narrative.

Have you talked to your old med school? what have they said?
