OK, so everyone wants to be in California. The people that are there want to stay, and those of us in the midwest are looking to move...

So, obviously, we apply to UCSF, the holy grail of Neurology residency... But where else, and why? After all, Cali does have 11 programs.

How about rest of the UC schools? Obviously UCLA and UCSD are on the list, but how about Irvine and Davis? Stanford seems like an obvious choice...

How about the wild cards? Loma Linda, Kaiser, USC, the VA in LA etc...

I want to live where it doesn't hit 30 below, but I don't want to sacrifice good training to do so...

Thanks.

Just apply and go check them out yourself :)
I probably would avoid community programs like Kaiser. Neuro is not hard to match in so there is no point in settling. BTW there are plenty of residencies in warm weather- Arizona, Texas, Florida. Why limit yourself?

Does anybody have any information about University of Califonia San Diego's program? Is it malignant? Does it have good clinical teaching? etc?
