Hi all, anyone have any advice on midwest EM programs that are less competitive? Trying to get back there for family reasons. Thanks!

Its probably easier just to mention the some of the more "competitive" midwest programs by academic standards (but not necessarily "better"):

Cook County, Northwestern, Advocate Christ, Indiana, Cincinnati, Univ of Michigan and Hennepin County

If I forgot a few, I'm sorry!

Maybe SIU, Madison?

Not because they aren't strong (interviewed there and liked them both) but rather because they are newer and possibly have less desirable locations. I will say that there isn't really a "less competive" EM residency nowadays. The qualifications just keep going up. Definitely need a solid app to ensure chances of matching.
