Less Competitive?

Maybe this is a stupid question but does anybody know of any easier schools to get into for pharmacy? Or maybe just less competitive schools? 🙄

Just curious... upon what is this observation based? If you are referring to Palm Beach Atlantic, the Fall 2005 application to enrollment ratio was 21:1, one of the most competitive ratios on this AACP report: http://www.aacp.org/Docs/MainNavigation/InstitutionalData/6863_Tab8PSAR.pdf

Sadly, all pharmacy schools are really hard to get into. In reality, there are always way to many applicants... Local pharmacy schools that are closest to you (i.e. within the same province/state) where you live might be "easier" for you, yet again, they might not have that kind of preference depending on the school. Other than that, good luck!

Not if you live in California! They don't care if you've lived all your life in their state. 🙄

I'm glad everyone got the joke, but I wouldn't worry too much about pharm school rankings as any accredited one you attend you can be a pharmacist and thats all that matters

Using that site you can compare the application to enrollment ratio.

A word of advice: Getting into pharmacy school isn't as hard as these forums make it seem. These forums seem to be biased toward pharmacy school in more popular states, which makes sense. For those of us located between Los Angeles and New York (a little place I like to call America 😉) it actually doesn't seem as hard. In Wisconsin, the acceptance ratio for my class was closer to 50% than the scary 5% numbers I have seen on this site. Only a few of the people in my class have a BS degree (less than 20%). Check out the enrollments compared to applications on that aacp website for states like Wisconsin, Utah, the Dakotas, Wyoming, Iowa, Nebraska, and other less populated states. For the people in these states the odds aren't so bad.
