Less Residency Spots?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sounds like a good way to force students into those residencies that don't get filled every year, i.e. family medicine, primary care in general, which a focus of the PPACA anyway.

Also IMG's would take a hit.

Good to see we have a bunch of idiots in Washington. Of all the things to cut funding to, we cut healthcare, and cut funds to it in a way that even exacerbates the physician shortage? Sometimes I wonder how these clowns even get their jobs. Cut DEFENSE, we don't need a million troops scattered across the globe, and get the heck out of Afghanistan, we can't help those that don't want our help.

As long as military contractors are in bed with Congress, I am afraid Washington will continue to be a cesspool of idiots.

So in addition to lowering reimbursement, the Affordable Care Act might cut funding for hospital residency programs?

Thoughts?

Your link has nothing to do with the Affordable Care Act, it pertains to the now-defunct "supercommittee" that failed to avoid the sequester.

If you wish to do something about the situation, lobby your Congressional representatives to increase GME funding.
