3.4 GPA from a UC school

30Q on the MCAT

23 year old white male, no financial difficulties

BA in psychology

Shadowing/Volunteer/Hospital Internships/Tutoring stuff like that, nothing super special

Planning to apply all over the US

Do I have a shot?

Thanks for the replies 🙂

Apply broadly and get 'em out now, and you should have at least some shot. The weakest part is probably your GPA, as you seem to have the rest of the boxes checked. I would continue to work on improving your application as you go through the process, though. That way you can keep schools updated on any major additions throughout the season.

You have a shot, but it could be tough since your grades aren't that good (and your MCAT is average). Also, private schools (while many do not formally consider one's state of residence) tend to be more competitive for California residents (assuming you're one yourself), since most private schools receive so many strong applications from Cali residents.

I guess I'll just apply everywhere and hope I get into one school!
