oversupply is real, Please look at the AOA report

http://www.aoa.org/documents/20-20-Report/C-3 Economics Optometry 2020 8-05.pdf

New 3 optometry schools are funded by big optical chain company and big boxes. they are business man, why would they fund them?, cuz they want to create more optometrists, and they can employ them at lower cost. not to mention, new schools will be collecting money from naive students.

Opening of 3 more schools will increase rate of new grads to about 20%.

and there's already oversupply of 3000 optometrists now, and there will be 6000 oversupply in year 2015.

That AOA report was not considering 3 more optometry schools!!!.

i am guessing there will be about 10000 oversupply of optometrist by year 2020, if you consider 3 more schools.
ain't this nut? there's total 35000 optometrist currently. 10000 over supply means, decrease in our income by 30%.

our economy is decreasing, oil price keep going up, our future isn't going to be what we used to be.

Please let 's do something, let's not sit here and let those authorities walk all over us.

You can talk to the AOA all you'd like. My guess is what you'll hear is: antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-
antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-antitrust-

Whoever is saying that is also likely to their fingers planted in their ears.
