WhtstheFrequency, how about Star Me Kitten? :laugh: I'm a fellow REM freak and went to VT undergrad. Every time I see your screen name, I smile and remind myself to message you, and then I get distracted!

I'm alliecat44 b/c alliecat was an old nickname a boyfriend gave me in high school, and 44 is my favorite (former basketball) number. My avatar is my nephew Sampson, a photo taken by his dad and my brother, who's making a go of professional photography--or at least selling photos online. 🙂 bluestreakimages.com if anyone's in the market for holiday gifts!

My name is a combo: "rex" was an old dog of ours, a HUGE yellow lab who has since passed. and he looked like a dinosaur, so that's where the "-osaurus" comes from.

My avatar is just because I LOVE monkeys! Like Philomycus, I had a picture of a macaque last year, but with a new year needs a new picture for new luck!
 
i just put up an avatar. is a picture of my sister's pig, maleficent, poking her nose through some temp fencing. in retrospect i'm completely surprised they never ate it...
 
PiddlingFish is the screen name that I chose for myself when I moved from NC to Sydney a couple years ago to study marsupials for a semester. My grandma used to call me a fish because of how much I loved being in the water. Piddling means small and insignificant. I put those two together because when I moved, I was the only person I knew on the entire continent.

My avatar is a picture of some adorable little bilbys. They're a small rabbit-like marsupial that's endangered. I did most of my research papers and observations on them. So cute!
 
When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with learning all about dogs. I loved dogs so much that I wanted to BE a dog. Hence the first part: adOggy.

07 comes from my past love of a Korean singing group when I was in high school... I was totally in love with one of the guys from the group. They all had numbers that represented them... His name was Tony Ahn and his number was 07. Thankfully, I am over this obsession!!! 😳

My avatar is just a random picture I found online that I thought was cute. If I recall correctly, it's from the website, http://www.cuteoverload.com

And it really is an overload of cuteness!!
 
sofficat is what i call, well, my cat. her name is soffi, or sofa. it's said just like sophie but it is spelled differently because she likes to hiss a lot and soffio (or something similar) is french for 'harsh breath'... at least in one translation i found.
the picture is of 4 mini horses, 3 of which i trained in high school, 2 of which i showed in the local horse shows. i would put a pic of soffi, but i, too, am a tech ****** without a working digital camera...
 
Now me!

My name comes from a nickname I was given in middle school. I have a small mouth and apparently nibble my food like a rabbit - which is where "bunnie" comes from, and "mello" well, I'm a pretty mellow person.

My avatar is of my 3-yr old border collie Nahui (pronounced like maui). That picture is just her being silly at the beach.

Ok, so I just added an avatar, last time I tried it wouldn't work so I thought I would try my luck again...

The picture is of my first of two cats. She's not really my first cat because we have 4 at home, but now I have two cats living with me in my apartment at school as well, if that makes any sense. Anyway, her name is Callie (she's a calico, completely unoriginal, i know) and she is curled up in a friends purse. She was so tiny, it's too bad they grow up so fast! She's about 1.5 years old now and the love of my life. 😍

my name comes from the fact that i love guinea pigs (cavies)...i tried to pick 'cavymama' (sounds like 'babymama'), but surprisingly that was already taken! my avatar is a pic of my two bunnies...no more sdn...must study now!
 
Mine took me ages to come up with and it's basically "Even if it takes me until infinity to get in, I will I will I will become a vet." Sort of a self motivating handle.

My hunny bunny Bailey died this summer from colic. I love him so very much, and am truly grateful to have met this wonderful creature.

my handle really comes from the fact that everything else i wanted was already taken so i had to make something up... cali because i live in california, K for the first letter of my name, and 463 because i choose some random numbers

my avatar is a elephant seal pup that was being rehabilitated... i want to be a marine mammal vet and work in a rehabilitation center so it was perfect!

Teacup... because I average about 3 cups of tea a day. It's not for the caffeine, I just find it soothing; and 27 is part of my birthday.

I found the chipmunk photo online because I'm studying chipmunks as part of my Master's program and have a fairly strong interest in wildlife medicine at this point. Oh and I thought it was cute. 🙂

Wooo and I got my avatar of my hoggies up! They are both Western Hognoses, which get killed a lot out west cause people think they are rattlesnakes - in reality, if threatened, they puff themselves up and then flip over and pretend to be dead.

The female (head on the left) is Laura Lee, and the male (head on the right) is Josey Wales. Anyone seen the Outlaw Josey Wales? Clint Eastwood *swoon* Laura Lee works as a "therapy snake" for the Child Fear Project at VT's psychoeducational services - for kids who have fears of things like dogs, cats, reptiles, etc. She is soo docile and just sits in your hands pointing her lil hoggie nose upatcha!

My handle comes from a shirt I saw and immediately bought. It has a picture of an obviously belligerent cat and in red letters, "claws beat skin".

My avatar is of my cat Guapo when he was around 8 weeks old. Gotta love the ears. Thank God the G-man grew into them.

I changed my picture to one of my roosters when he was just a chick. So cute and innocent. We still thought he was a girl back then. 😀

Loli got her name because when we brought her home she was sick and couldn't get spayed for a little while. In the meantime she was quite the little Lolita with everyone in the house. Silly kitties. My name is boring... K is the first initial of my first name and Rodriguez is my last name. I am very creative....

Steelmagghia: When I was 16, my aunt gave me a car for my birthday- a 1969 Volkswagon Karmann Ghia. Now, it wasn't fixed up and I have still not fixed it enough to drive it (yeah, I have a car I've never driven), but I wanted to somehow make it mine, so I gave it a nickname. Because it's old, it's still made out of steel so I called it Steel Magnolia.

Thus, my handle- Steel Magnolia the Karmann Ghia = steelmagghia

Yep, I'm a nerd.
 
My name is Badger Girl because I'm from Wisconsin....where Bucky Badger is the mascot (in case you didn't know). Oh yeah, and I'm a girl. 😀

My avatar is a picture of my Saint Bernard, Beamer, when he was just a young pup. Soon, I will have to get an updated picture of him with the new puppy (English Mastiff), Bentley. This is of course contingent on Beamer going near the puppy. :laugh:

My name is so uncreative it's scary. I had a blog about vet. med at one point, so I just used VetMed as my screen name, and 555 is my favorite (lucky) number.

My avatar is an owl (wildlife) that we had at our clinic. She was malnourished and had parasites, but was sent to a wildlife rehabilitator and did fine as far as I know.
 
Finding it really hard to study for Org chem exam with spring break and UGA decision looming. In honor of spring break Ive posted some funny songs on my myspace page if you need something to listen to while your studying.
 
I am Silly, and I am a filly I suppose.... I have used it all over the internets. I just want to remember that at my core, I am a silly person who loves horses. You have to be!

The horse is a 3 year old I met last year at Pin Oak Stud in Lexington on Spring Break with my fav friends. We spent our senior break touring farms... couldn't have done it better! His name is Timely Advice. He was v sweet! 😀
 
Mine is fairly boring. I've been using pupsforseeing for random internet things since I was 12 and have never gotten aroud to switching to something else. Plus, it's fairly fitting since a good deal of my brain power/energy is devoted to raising puppies for the purpose of providing sight 🙂 As for my avatar, that's Wilkie, the third guide dog puppy I raised. It's my tradition to take my puppies to the pumpkin patch every fall and take a picture in the wheelbarrows!

I go to Penn State where the mascot is the Nittany Lion. Tweaked the name a little bit and got NittanyKitty. 🙂 And my avatar picture is my family's current two dogs Jesse (GSD) and Ginger (lab/poodle). I only get to see them when I'm home from school; not being around the animals is definitely the hardest part of college!
 
Whoops, I forgot to talk about my avatar! It's my Papillon, Maddie, in her Halloween costume from last year (she was Tinkerbell, yeah I know, I dressed my dog for Halloween). 🙂

My handle is the name of my very snotty, totally lovable, toothless old girl- Barnaby, the Russian blue impostor!

I don't have an adequate avatar yet because I've been too lazy to upload a picture of old gums cat. However, I chose the avatar I have because the little character reminded me of...well...me.
 
In lieu of studying for my microbio and calc 2 exams...

I chose mine because there are few things better than being totally lazy and relaxing in a squishy pair of pink bunny slippers.

My avatar is a random beagle picture because I am sooo excited to adopt a perfect ex-lab/research beagle after I graduate in may!
